21 August: Case status update to card mailed

Im thinking, cases , where there are children in the marriage, are a no brainer cases. We have almost 11 y old daughter and i never got any requests for additional info and i did all my papers myself, without a lawyer. Im assuming the interview will b quick also. There is prob no greater ?thing?, that ties two ppl together than a child! Fingers crossed

Just got my interview notice 1 year to the date I sent my application away. I presume itll be for late October. It says my case status is: Testing and Interview? is this the standard wording?

Now to get my 2nd medical done as the first expired and prepare for the interview.

**** Interview Day, Montgomery Al, Traveled 2 hours and 33 minutes. We went inside around 11:15am, checked in and waited for another 15mins until they called my name, i stood up thinking (and prepared) that he only needs me to go inside the office with him (the io) but my partner stood up too and walked in with me and he let him go inside without saying anything and i?m relieved!!!! The io, Talking while walking with us (im just quiet and don?t want to interupt him and my partner), he seems to be not that serious type of person but look like a strict kind of a country guy. He was kind of on rush but really wanted to get things together in order. I immediately handed him my updated medical records and told him that i don?t want to forget about it. So we just sat even if he don?t actually asked as to do so (because my knees are feeling weak at the same time maybe a lil? bit of nervousness) he sat down and started to tell us that he would like to sworn us by saying the truth and nothing but the truth (we raised our hands while sitting because he never told us to stand up and even him was sitting too LOL) after that he told us that he would start with my partners petition form (i-130) and asked him some information, basically just to confirm everything on the form. He ask me to give him my partners tax returns and i handed him the tax from 2014-2016, then my partner started to explain how?s our other house work as for lease and for air bnb (duplex) Then he started to ask my partner about:
?My name, my DOB, my Place of Birth.
?Where we met (Online dating site)
?How long we talked online b4 we actually met in person (2 months)
?Where did my partner took me at on our first date
?When did i moved in with my partner.

Then he turned to ask me stuffs like:
?Yes/No Questions from form i-485
?clarified everything about my info
?My mom?s name/if she still alive
?My dad?s name/if he still alive
?our dogs/how many (3 yorkshire terriers)
?if i am currently working and where at?
?asked me about the house that we live in right now/made me discribed how many bath rooms and bedrooms (i wanted to tell him the color of each rooms but he said ?ugh! I dont need to know that? in a nice and funny way)

Then asked both of us:
?what did we do last june (my partners bday) we eat outside and i treated my partner for a dinner
?what did we do last january (my bday) i?m at work (io made a joke and said ?WHAT? Youre a DORK?? Lol) and went home with a gift from my partner
?what did we do last labor day - which confused me because i thought he was asking about independence day which was june and i was in california with my relatives for an RV trip for two weeks. (I didn?t realized that i made a mistake until we got home) He was shocked and asked me ?you?re not living in california right? ?
I said no, then he said ?yeah, because i would think that it?s not real marriage, did you got married because of the green card?? We answered no, then he said ?how can you say that? then it was my partner who answered clearly that ?because he loved me, from the moment he saw me, he told me that he wanted to marry me and that was from day 1 or first day that we met?
The io seems to be quiet after he heard that from my partner, he?s trying to take note of every words that we said. We had 3 full, thick folders of files that i arranged and the i.o seems to be overwhelmed on how many document i brought with us, and he seems to be out or lost of questions to ask, at the end he decided not to take the lease contract for the other house but asked us if we wanted to give him other kind of evidences, i handed him some receipts with my ig printed picture attached from year 2016, told him that its the receipts with my partners atm card number and he laughs and told me he don?t need it, i tried to give him our phone bills, registration for our dogs with both of our names on it and he said he don?t need it as well, lastly i showed him the picture of our newest puppy and had a conversation about it. At the end he told us that everything is good, he dosnt seem to see any problem and i?ll be receiving the result via mail in the NEAR FUTURE, he didnt give us any timeline like 60-90 days or paper stating our case must be reviewed or anything like other couples had. He continiously said that we?re okay with a thumbs up everytime he would say that we will be receiving the result via mail in the near future. He escorted us going out while him and my partner was talking about couples now a days meeting online unlike before that couples met in bars and parties like that, he shaked our hands with a smile then we left the building, my status online changed to ?My interview was completed and my case must be reviewed?.

Hi, actually i just followed the instructions for I-765, which is only the copy of previous EAD card back and front and two passport style photos. I did not renew AP yet.

09/11/2017 - case accepted ,received 4 text messages and 4 emails late at night and fingerprint fee received on I-485
09/15/2017 - received 4 hard copy NOA's
11/21/2017 - EAD/ AP APPROVED received two weeks later aprox

Interview scheduled for 10 AUG . Received interview letter a month and one week before scheduled interview date.

INTERVIEW.


Arrived 30 min before.
Got called in right on my time.

Sworn in and seated. Got right into the business was stern and smiled but not really nice IMHO. Like typical american smile when its not really meant all you foreigners know what I mean. Like the smile you get in the restaurant to get a high tip out of you. But thats fine moving on .

First went over the first few sites of the application packages. Confirming all kinds of information asking about current jobs and asking a few dates so make sure you know all those things.

Then went to the relationship part.

1. Where did you meet
2. What did you guys talk about and who was there. Who introduced( asked for the name)
3. When did you guys meet next time
4. When did you move in together.
5 When did you enter in the relationship
6.When and who asked for marriage.
7. What kind of relationship do you have.
8. What do you like about each other

There were a couple other ones along those lines . It can all be found in numerous threads here. It felt quite intense.

Then after no news no anything just said needs further time to review no paper or anything, man I tell you what we left and we were so devastated. Sad and felt frustrated and clueless. IO said might take a few months review ... LOL ok

THEN. A little wait time.

APROX a few days after the interview received random approval notice for I-130. A week later received the approval notice for that.

Then only a few days ago on 08/22/2018. Get a text message with card in production and it was an amazing thing I was so happy. Then today I received WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA LETTER. It felt special and first time USCIS saying something nice and emotional.



"It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to permanent resident status in the united states, you will soon receive your new Permanent Resident Card "





GUYS IT IS A HARD AND TOUGH WAIT AND I WAS SO DOWN AFTER THE INTERVIEW BUT HANG IN THERE EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO WAIT SO MUCH LONGER THAT MOMENT YOU HOLD IT IN YOUR HAND ITS ALL WORTH IT.

Interview two weeks ago roughly , card in production today , interview was quite detailed but just standard questions. My GC journey has ended thanks everyone and good luck. I will now fly with my wife to san diego for the weekend. Booked it this morning. Finally free from stress and worries which even as a authentic couple I had . Being in this EAD limbo. I will write a lengthy interview experience tonight with timeline

Well we would expect in Oct or Nov. I have called to USCIS and they told me that my application has been in the line of interview since March 14.
