            • I have a question: did anyone ever get a RFE for I-485 saying your sponsor doesn't meet the requirements/income poverty guidelines EVENTHOUGH the annual income exceeds the required amount by aot ( more than 15000$) ???? I'm confused maybe our documentation just wasn't clear enough..... Any thoughts??

I got a RFIE for the same reason. The income on my husband's 2018 tax transcript income does not meet the requirement since he only worked half-year in 2018. His current annual income is well above the guidelines and we use employment verification letters with amount of annual income and all available pay stubs this year as proofs. I guess they only consider 2018 tax docs. So in response, we added my brother-in-law as a joint sponsor.

                • Well,my partner is retired and those benefits are not taxable, so no IRS documents. But,we can proof the income is way beyond the required amount. I guess, our documentation wasn't clear enough.i don't think I need a cosponsor, cause we not only mee,but exceedt the required amount. Just resubmit documents, explain it well and add a letter, why filing taxes is not required.

My sponsor is retired as well and I submitted her benefits letters, 6 months worth of account statements showing the deposits in her account and as you said a letter stating the benefits she receives are not taxed and that's the reason for no tax returns.

                      • Hi everyone, I am a late June filer so I thought I would belong here more.

Here is my profile and timeline in case it can help others:

Married to USC (same-sex couple). OPT via F1 visa expired July 2019.

                        Field office: Baltimore MD

                        • 07/30 - biometrics review complete
                        • 10/25 - Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview + RFE (please bring another i-693 medical form to the interview bc 1st one is more than 3 months old)
I haven't heard anything since this last update, and I haven't been able to work since July because the EAD is not arriving. We knew there would be a couple months when I couldn't work but time is getting long. My spouse is working part time and it is getting difficult to get by, would anyone know if there is a way to expedite at least the EAD process?
I hope the interview will be schedule this month it's already been more than a month since it was updated to "ready to be scheduled"...

                        Thank you.
