Curious: My parents renewed their B-2 visas (originally 2005-2015) in 2015 and its now valid till 2025. Should I expect that their biometrics are already available and could be waived?

I-765 for EAD is approved as of 07/24/2020.
I should receive the approval letter soon in the mail according to USCIS.
I called USCIS today just to make sure that the mail is not lost in case they've already sent it.
Thank God that I called. USCIS officer told me that the biometrics appointement is rescheduled on 08/03/2020 and the letter was sent to my lawyer on 07/18/2020. I called my lawyer's office and they confirmed that they received it today. There is one issue though which is USCIS picked the location of ASC closer to my lawyer's office in Los Angeles, CA... I live in Nashville, TN. My lawyer advised that I just visit ASC in Nashville with the appointment letter and my ID and I should be ok to do biometrics. As soon as I receive the letter from my lawyer, I will try to visit the nearest ASC from me and post an update.Last edited by Hotaru-Grace; 07-30-2020, 10:44 AM.7. 18. 2017: I130, I131, I485, I864, I765 - Chicago Lockbox: 8. 15. 2017: Biom-Kendall, Florida

Ultimately this is however USCIS mistake, they should schedule you to the ASC where you live. (Unless your lawyer filled out incorrect address)

Your lawyer is most likely very wrong. In covid times, you cannot just walk into an ASC, they do not accept walk ins anymore, let alone into the wrong one.

Wow I am glad you called USCIS. So your lawyer neglected to share the information on the date of the biometrics with you and yet still you will trust his/her advice to go to a different ASC location than the one that USCIS wrote on your biometrics letter? hmmmmm. I would go with the letter in hand to the office that was indicated on it OR MOST IMPORTANTLY call USCIS to make sure they are ok with you doing the biometrics in Nashville, TN. All the best.Originally posted by 000000 View Post

I went there on Thursday to ask what to do and ASC in Nashville told me to come back today which is my new appointment date.
I came back there this morning and I brought my original appointment letter which shows my original assigned location was Nashville. The security guy seems very familiar with my situation and allowed me in. It took less than 10 minutes to perform all necessary steps.Last edited by zn6ft86; 08-03-2020, 01:29 PM.

I've been to the Nashville FO for an infopass 2 years ago, they are nice people too so that should help. Our bio was in Atlanta and they were not as nice and did not allow us to do a walk in pre covid times.
Yes, I had the same thought so I submitted address change via online few days ago so that I won't be assigned to LA FO for interview.
If USCIS assign me again to LA FO for interview, I may fly to LA depending on the status of pandemic at the time of appointment.
