    My timeline is as follows:

    I-140 - Filed December 2019.

Received I-797C Notice of action - Notice date: December 27, 2019

    I-131 / I-765 / I-485 filed Feb 2020

Received I-979C Notice of action - Receipt date: Feb 18, 2020. Notice date: March 25, 2020

May 21, 2020 - (93 days after filing 1-765 and I-131) - Received I-979C Notice of action saying my I-765 and I-131 had been approved, and should be in the mail soon.

For some reason, I just felt that I should keep asking them about my I-140, which I did..... only to be told on the phone that my I-140 had also been approved in May but for some reason they had not sent me the notice. I asked them to re-send it, so they filed a request.

June 16, 2020 - Received re-sent notice saying my I-140 had been approved

I didn't receive either EAD/AP card combo in the mail after 60 days - I had to call many times to ask what was going on (USCIS stopped producing them although they didn't tell me that!), I put in a request to have it re-sent (which was never assigned to an officer) and eventually at end of July put in form to the Ombudsman.

Shortly after Ombudsman wrote to me saying they had asked USCIS to look into my case, on August 1st I received notice saying I should go for biometrics for I-765/I-131 and for my I-485. They accidentally sent this to my old address but thankfully the postal services forwarded it to me.

August 18th (afternoon) - biometrics done in NYC.

August 18th (evening) - case updated online to say that my card had been ordered.

August 19th - case updated online to say that my card was being produced.

August 20th - case updated online to say card has been mailed.

I have a tracking number (I got it after calling USCIS) and I can see that it is out for delivery. It is due to arrive tomorrow or Tuesday.

August 19th - re: I-485 - case updated online to say that my fingerprints had been completed. Same day also updated to say that fingerprints had ben applied to my I-485 case and my case is now being prepared for officer review.

So that's where I am right now. I'm hoping that my I-485 moves swiftly. So far, apart from the delay in getting my EAD/AP card, it has all been moving much faster than expected.

Hope this all helps. My local field office is Brooklyn NY, but my original forms were sent to Nebraska Service Center and then went to NBC for processing.

I have been up their **** the whole time - I have called them about 2/3 times a week. I've found that the website is often slow/inaccurate and sometimes they don't update it fully or they forget to send notices, or send them to the wrong place. It has been stressing me out but stay on top of them!

Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions.
Wow !! its insane that you eventually got you biometrics and EAD so long after it getting approved. Not surprising though with everything going on.
    Thanks for the detailed response.

      You're welcome.
yes! insane! I had assumed that they would use old biometrics, maybe from when I last entered the country, but alas no.
I'm just looking forward to getting my EAD/AP card today or tomorrow.
They tried to deliver it to a post office in NY on Saturday but that was closed, so they are apparently going to try again. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
      Persistence definitely pays.

In other good news though, the House of Representatives just passed a bill this weekend to put emergency funds into USCIS to avoid the massive furlough at the end of this month.

For the biometrics, did you bring anything other than the biometrics notice and a photo ID?
USC filed AOS for parents on B2. I am not a lawyer.

Completed biometrics @ USCIS San Marcos today. They asked about any fever/quarantine requirement/etc. so in that case biometrics would need to be rescheduled. There was no temperature screening done. They only allowed parents to go inside. It was straightforward process - took about 10 mins (photos followed by fingerprinting) and they were out.

Great - atleast now you can put in an expedited request.
I'm still waiting for biometric notice to be able to put in an expedited request with a job offer in hand.

Given that biometrics are now completed for parents, is it reasonable to expect primary eligibility (e.g. birth certificate/relationship proofs establishing eligibility etc.) are in order? Trying to understand if biometrics appointment is done after these things are verified by USCIS?

No. Biometrics is the first essential step irrespective whether all your documentation is sufficient or not. Biometrics are requested before USCIS throughly goes through your application.

No, that was all I took.

Am pleased to say that I finally got my combo card! After nearly having a fit as to where it could have been delivered to, I had a brainwave that maybe USCIS had sent it to my lawyer's office. So I called my lawyer and they told me they had it (thanks for letting me know, guys!!!). I went to get it and now have it in my hand! So so happy!!!

Thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing updates, experiences and asking good questions!
