  • What is the timeline of getting an SSN in relation to the EAD card?
Anyone having any experience? I need an SSN by October since I had to defer my tax filing due to missing SSN of my wife.

    Concurrently filed Forms I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-693, I-864, I-944, I-765.

    Timeline so far:
September 17, 2020 - Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record signed by a civil surgeon
September 23, 2020 - Package Sent to USCIS
September 25, 2020 - Package Delivered to USCIS Chicago Lockbox via UPS & Received by CHYBA
October 14, 2020 - Both checks are cashed.
October 19, 2020: Received two receipts by mail, one for 485 and one for 130.
December 18, 2020: The 765 form got lost in the application pile for some reason. Resubmitted.
June 28, 2021: Fingerprints notice received for both 765 and 485.

    • Just checked my egov I485 status and it said Case is Ready to be scheduled for Interview. Just did my biometrics a few days ago.. I hope this means it’s a good thing..I wonder how long it will take to actually get the interview date.

In the past I have seen reports that it takes a few weeks up to several months to schedule an interview. I hope you get one soon. Good luck.

Mine had that update one week after bios and then on the next morning it turned to "your interview has been schedule" , the date is for a month and a half away .

            • Good and bad news, maybe somebody has some advise for me.
As of July 29th my status is "Interview has been scheduled". So that's super exciting!

However, I moved since I have filed. They already sent my EAD to the old address even though I changed it online and I had to request it via an online form. Took a while to actually receive it.
I'm nervous that this is going to happen again with the interview date and that I won't know the date until it's too late.

I tried calling but I can't seem to get through to speak to an actual person.
              Does anybody have any advise?

I already talked to the owner of our old house to please lookout for some documents from USCIS, but I'm not sure if USPS is just going to send it back to USCIS.
Usually the interview date is about a month out, right?
09/26 Package was received in Chicago
              10/30 Checks cashed
              11/02 Receipt Notice via text

You can wait until August 16, if you didn't receive the letter by then you can call or use Emma (ask for a live agent) and they can tell you the date and what you need to do to get another letter (if needed).

You can try to go to your local USPS and have them hold it to you. By the way, have you change your address with USPS? I am not sure if they do mail forwarding from USCIS . If you change your address now, it may forever to reschedule you.
                  05/08/20: I-485, I-765, I-131, I-944 sent to USCIS

                  06/03 Rejected again-same reason

07/09 Filings accepted with PD 05/08/20 (nice)
08/06 Prior biometrics applied to I485

                    • So.... has anyone else gotten their green card and found USCIS had used an old outdated photograph from a visa application almost 10yrs ago and NOT the photo you sent with the paperwork? :/

                      • Guys I'm beyond confused.
My interview was scheduled for next week and all of a sudden I get a notification this morning that the interview has been canceled.
Does anybody know what's going on? Is this COVID related? Are they closing their offices again?

                          • For those applicants having had no SSN prior to the application process, did you receive your SSN after the 765 was approved? What is the timeline for it?

I have seen this when the officer can't make the appointment.

We received ours 2 weeks after we received the EAD, this was before covid. I don't know the current times.
