October 2020 I1485 filers may join

Hi,
My I-485/EAD filing date is 30th Oct 2020. Received the receipt notice beginning of Feb 2021, but still in progress waiting for Biometrics letter.
Meanwhile my L-1 A extension got an RFE and RFE due date for submission is March end. My employer is asking me to wait beyond RFE due date and stating, we will check the status on the EAD and then RFE response can be submitted in the grace period which is after the RFE due date.
Please advise:
1. Is there such a grace period to submit an RFE beyond the RFE due date?
2. If it is true, is it ok to wait and then submit the Extension RFE response in the grace period?
3. What will be the advantages or disadvantages of EAD for Extension approval?

L1A extension (I129) and EAD(I765) are different applications and go to different offices. Plus I am not even sure how much time is the EAD going to take. My was filed in first week of October, with biometric done in Dec and I haven't received the EAD yet. Also I don't see a harm in responding if you justify as an L1-A manager and working in that capacity. So if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't wait for the EAD to respond to the RFE.

Hi...my colleague filed on Oct 27th and is in the same situation as yours. I filed mine on Oct 20th and got finger printing done and received my EAD and AP combo card. So, I think that there is no pattern since all our details are the same..only 1 week difference....

Try calling USCIS at 1 800 375 5283. When IVR starts, keep patience & insist on talking to agent. They did answer my call last time.

Mine was filed on Oct 29th, receive acknowledgement on Jan 2nd, no biometric appointment yet
I need to travel to India to take care of some personal matters, Does calling USCIS to expedite the biometric request help?

Reading Vishnu early posts, Did you get your biometric done?
Since your PD is in 2014 and right now 2010 July is the date for Eb3, so i really dont know if GC will be processed that soon. Sorry for taking hopes down. but do keep us posted.

• Filing I485 + I944 + I765 + I131 on 29OCT2020
• USCIS Office - NBC
• Local office - NJ state

I received the receipts for 485, 131 & 765, since then no update.

485 status shows as fingerprint fee was received.

How long it takes to get the appointment notification for fingerprinting?

Anyone else on the same time line as above? can you share you case status please ?

As other members of this forum are stating, there is no Clear pattern, i wish there was. My AOS submission date is also 27th Oct but haven't got any Biometric appointment yet but one of my colleague has AOS submission date as 29th Oct and he received biometric date for 18th March. its same ASC.

Hi. It's the Office of the Senator that emailed them. I asked they're help to expedite my case.

For update I just got an email today that my i-485 has moved to Testing and Interview.

As of March 5, 2021, we are ready to schedule your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview.

Looks like I am expecting an interview soon!

Biometric notice: Feb 01
Biometrics: Feb 18
EAD/AP Combo: Mar 01

Received Biometrics notice today March 5th. Pretty Relieved.

I believe they are working off of a list of documents and stalling if any document is missing including Medicals. In this case your Priority date has not even reached the final action dates for EB3 India. Hence I am not sure what is point of sending an RFE by USCIS. There are cases that I have read on trackit in which the interviews have been waised. I also read in July/August forum that someone got an interview appointment notice from the field office after the RFE for medicals. But again, USCIS is unpredictable as always. But yeah it would be awesome if the interview gets waived off.

BTW, did you say that you got RFE for EAD/AP or I485? You can confirm by the receipt notice numbers and/or the case status as well.

On my RFE notice, it says I-485 AOS.
All of these were filed together.
