I-485 - Case was transferred to a new jurisdiction

Yeah. That's unfortunate because our cases were filed in NBC but then was either moved to LIN or SRC due to our I140s being there.

I sort of agree with timelines of 6 months. I read in different forum where a person who has PD of nov 2020 and I485 submitted in Aug 2021 got GC approved by now. Most of these approvals are happening from NBC. In my case, the case numbers immediately ahead and below are approved where as mine was transferred to NSC. As far as i know, they are bit slow in processing the cases.

I can understand your frustration. USCIS is quite unpredictable. I'm still waiting for my I140 approval. I have a genuine case of EB1C. I'm a senior manager for 15+ years now and I've worked across India, US, UK and Europe. I am part of a huge corporation as well so why is my I140 still pending while many people who applied after me got their approval beats me. I guess we just have to take it in our stride and just wait for our turn, hoping for the best. I really wish you get your GC soon.Originally posted by twisted-pixel View PostI'm somewhat skeptical of the guy who says he got his GC in less than 6 months. I'm in the EB1-C category too, and my case hasn't even been updated in 6 months!
The frustrating part for me is that, I didn't even get my EAD AP until a week back. There was a death in my immediate family and I couldn't go. I know many people try to expedite their cases for no reason or even worse, not real reasons and they get their cards, and people like us are in the receiving end. Anyways. It doesn't make sense for the frustration to get to us. Hope for the best. Good luck to you.

Receipt number won't change. You will continue to have the same one and that's the number which will go on your GC card as well. Which is why I'm guessing the processing time won't be reset even if the case is transferred. The processing time you see in the website is the worst case scenario when all applications are expected to have been processed. Most 485 applications even him Dec 2020 has been processed. I've also seen people even in employment based category so filed as recent as Jul 2021 got their GCs. So, if your 140 or 130 is approved, you should expect your case to be picked up soon...Originally posted by rln8316 View Post
Well.. i m not in out of processing range yet. As of today, receipt of case inquiry is May 6, 2020 and prior.
Also confused if we would continue to have same receipt number or different receipt number starting with LIN...

No idea. If I should guess, I'd say original filing will be used for all calculations so you should be able to file an out of processing time request based on the original filing date.

Yeah, so it looks like you will hear from them this week. Let's see. Good thing is, things are progressing.Originally posted by shiva_82 View Post
Good to know.. My timeline is almost exactly same as yours. I140 filed in Nebraska on 01/20 and 485 filed on 05/24 in National Benefits center and then 485 got transferred to Nebraska on 06/11.

It's possible that they pick both concurrently. I applied for I-140 on 1/15/2021 at Nebraska & I-485 on 5/27 at California & later my 485 was also transferred to Nebraska on 6/14.

Interesting. Either ways, I believe with 485J, they have picked up both your I140 & 485 for processing. Hopefully your I140 would get approved and at the same time you get your RFE for medical. I read somewhere in uscis website that they take your 485 also for processing while I140 is picked up if your dates are current. All the best.
May I know where your I140 is pending and when it was filed?
Mine is in Nebraska and was filed 01/20/21. I'm hoping to get I140 approval in a month. Fingers crossed.

I'm yet to take the health examinations. my I140 isn't approved yet. I'm in EB1-C MM category. I was mistakenly given a visa in a different category which we amended later. Mine was a bit peculiar case on L1-A.

Typo due to autocorrect... I'm still waiting eagerly for my I140 approval. If you have received your 485J it means they have started processing your 485. So you should hear more in it soon. If you have submitted your medicals already then I expect it to be approved soon. If not, you would see the RFE for medicals.
Because you received your 485J I'm assuming your I140 is approved, right? Are you in EB1 or a different category?

You are not waiting for 140? Or you are now waiting for 140? I received my 485 J form. Don’t know what the next steps are.

Hey... Good to know. I got mine last week too. I'm not waiting for my I140 approval so I485 could proceed before the date retrogresses by any chance. Fingers crossed..
