Hello - no news on the I-751 front, except for my 48 months extension early 2023. However, I got scheduled for my N400 interview.

Curious to know how to best prepare for the civic test and wondering if my husband should come with me.

Congratulations! Seems N400 will expedite I-751. Did the letter informing interview asked your spouse to go with you?

No, it didn’t ask for my spouse - it only says interpreter or lawyer if I want. And no change on my I-751 status either - odd!

My I-751 is still pending....and I did submit my N-400 application yesterday 😃 so now, hopefully for the last time, the waiting period starts/ continues.

Hello September 2021 filers,

I recently just received my 48months extension letter and still patiently waiting for any update and hoping for an interview soon. I was 1 month officially divorced when I filed for my I-751 at the Texas Service Center. On the website, its still saying “25 month’s processing time” which keeps increasing as time goes by. Just wanted to see if there’s other I-751 divorced filers in here? Thank you and goodluck to all of us

I filed my N400 3 weeks ago. They reused my bio. I751 has no update. My friend applied in mid march and he is already scheduled an interview in the end of May. Same field office as mine.

Hi all,

Just a heads up that I’ll be leaving you as I am a US citizen as of last Friday. Here is a quick summary:

- Filed i-751 in September of 2021
- Filed N-400 in September if 2023
- N-400 interview scheduled for June 2 2023 approved and same day oath

Here is how the day went:
- Arrived at 8:20am for my 8:30am appointment
- Officer called me around 8:45am over the counter, super sweet young lady who asked me if my husband was with me - I said no but on his way - she asked if we had a kid - I said yes and provided my babe’s birth certificate which was enough in her eyes to approve i-751 without my husband. She told me to go sit and that she will call me soon once she is done taking care of my i-751.
- She calls me again around 9:10am and I go to her office
- I answered correctly the first 7 questions for the civics test so she stops there
- I take the English test
- She offers me to either extend my i-751 and schedule me later for oath (because I’m traveling soon) or to just send me to ceremony same day, I pick the latter.
- I step out around 9:25am and go upstairs for the oath ceremony.
- I waited an hour and there were 38 of us
- I stepped out as a US citizen around 11am

I’ll hang out just to see if there are any questions, but anyways, wishing everyone the best of luck!

No: because we have a child and I was able to produce his original birth certificate, the officer didn’t ask for my spouse to join the interview.
