Friends:
We are applying for a greencard for our parents (We are citizens).
They don't have a birth certificate and marriage certificate. I see
from the immihelp web site you need: (1) A letter from the
indian local authority that the birth was not recorded, and (2) An affidavit
from the relative with the format they suggest.
Our question is : Is item (1) a must? Do we absolutely need that letter
from the local authorities that the birth certificate is NOt available? Isn't the
affidavit sufficient?
