I called Rele this morning. I told the staff my interview date and that I had to travel from Bangalore. He said they have appointments for the 1st. I filled in an online application and received a confirmation email saying my application has been submitted and to give them 48 hrs to reply and confirm.
A document/ declaration with all my information was sent as an attachment which I have to print and take with me to the appointment.
I will call them again tomorrow.

VAC and Consulate both are in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex), apart about a minimum fare of Rikshaw.

"Being in the US will not put your file on hold. You will get notified by email as normal when the case is transferred to Mumbai Consulate. I am in the same situation, my parents DQ is Feb 2021, and they have just traveled here to the US this week. They plan to travel back in a couple of months since looking at the current pace it appears their interview will be sometime in May."

Do they update status on CEAC dashboard about the case at NVC or TRANSIT or AT CONSULATE before they send IL?

Rele staff called me up this afternoon and confirmed the appointment.
