  • There are no K3 visas being routinely processed. If married you would be using the I-130 for a CR-1 or IR-1 spousal visa.

If going for DCF, consular processing, the U.S. Embassy must accept the DCF request, and they don't always accept them.

If we do a K-3 visa, can my husband still fly back to NZ and do consular processing if he chooses?

    Thanks!

    • can't access the confirmation page for the DS-260

I've tried all the websites I know and all the phone numbers for about a month and nobody can tell me how to access the confirmation page on the DS-260
it won't let me go there after the preparer's information. And I can't fill it out again because all the information is already saved. Any ideas?/

      • After the DS-260 has been completed and submitted, you cannot redo any of it. The Confirmation page should still be available. I just went to the DS260 page that was completed and submitted several months ago. Go into "Review" mode, go to the Preparer section, then you should see a "Confirmation" link.

        • AOS and Civic Docs should be sent together?

          Hi folks,

I got quick question. I received "Welcome Letter" which indicates the six steps toward processing the visa along with attached Cover Sheet.

I completed form DS-261 and paid $120 AOS fee. I already gathered all the Financial and Civic documents and ready to go – I got the barcode cover page for both AOS as well - But as you may guess the DS-260 has not been opened yet and apparently it won’t be sometimes after DS-261 completion date.

          Here is my question:
Should I send the AOS form along with associated financial proofs to NVC or wait till DS-260 gets opened and completed then send all docs together in one package. Does it make any diffrence in process timing?

          Thanks for your help.

          • You can go either way...send the sponsorship docs now, or send the sponsorship docs and civil documents together, even before you pay the $325 immigrant visa fee and complete the DS-260.

              thank you Ray.

Do we know what the approximate time is between filing 261 and opening 260? If I sent the docs earlier does it make any difference in overall process timing?

              • I'm not sure if the submittal of the DS-261 or the payment of the $325 visa fee is responsible for the DS-260 being available to complete. Either way, it suddenly becomes available after both of the above actions are complete.

In the same boat as everyone. Waiting to pay the IV fee. Ray, once you get the physical invoice and if the website does not allow me to pay online and I mail the money order to the NVC, did you submit the financial and supporting documents along with the money?

I understand once i send off the supporting documents, they have 60 days to get back to me. Once that happens, how long does it usually take to get an appointment in Sydney, Australia?

                  • Of late, the NVC fee payment process has reverted back to normal payment online, but the $325 visa billing and allowing online payment is still delayed several weeks. NVC now allows, and seems to encourage, submittal of both sponsorship and civil documents together with the combined cover page which lists all contents, EVEN BEFORE THE $325 FEE PAYMENT IS MADE.

                    • DS 260 Invoice ID

Hi I have received letter stating following points. Will you please explain me what does this mean...?

Step 1: Obtain your Police Clearance Certificate

Step 2: Complete your Medical examination with an approved panel physician

Step 3: Complete Form DS-260 online at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigra...info_5164.html and print the confirmation page to bring to your interview. Please do this for any derivative spouse and children who will be applying for a visa. If your petition did not go through the NVC process (for example, you filed you petition overseas). your invoice ID number will be the principal applicant's date of birth (YYYYMMDD).

Step 4: Go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in Create a user account and select your passport/visa pick-up location.

Step 5: Only after completing Step 1-4 , log in to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in to schedule an appointment under category 2for a Consulate interview.

This is the letter which I have got earlier last week, I am clear with Police Clearance Certificate and Medical examination but when I tried Step 3 as per their instruction to fill up DS-260 they ask to enter Invoice ID which I dont have and I tried date of birth of principal applicant as well as use petitationer's date of birth too but it didn't worked and getting frustrated with the process now so I am here to know what should be the process and how to get this Invoice ID. Please help me with this as I have already spent 17 days just to find my Invoice ID and if one can help that it would be really helpful for me to get this thing done.

Also I want to know that is this sure that I will get my Visa this time ? Is this the letter to give me visa or just to normal process as they are doing regularly. Please help me with this couple of questions... It will help

                      • Name Difference on Birth Cirtificate and Legal ID

                        Hi Ray B,

I am reading this very helpful thread and your responses are very supportive, thanks in advance for all your contribution.

My be I cannot explain properly but really need your help in this regard.

                        My case background is
                        1. My brother filled I-130 which is approved (My name was on petition was "First Name, second Name, Last Name")
                        2. I applied for visitor visa but rejected multiple time. (Always mentioned about Immigrant petition filed )
                        3. I visited US on H1B visa (mentioned about Immigrant petition filed) and worked there and returned back (110 days overstay) after visa expire (I Filed an Adjust of status petition for student
                        status
but left USA when it was getting late from USICS)
                        3. Now I received NVC letter for the 6 step , Agent and AOS form with $120 paid done and send AOS form to NVC by Petitioner.

                        I have two questions

                        1. Now My legal documents has Name on them as ("First Name, Last Name") on My passport and country ID has it but on my Birth Certificate my name is as ("First Name, second Name, Last
Name"). when ever I applied for visa either it was visitor or Work I always mentioned my petition. Now I am worried what to do or what will happen I do not have any evidence how it
was changed only Country ID was Same on all Documents.

                        2. Now I have two kids and how I can add them or fill DS 260 because online it only showing my name and my spouse name.

                        Regards

                        • Hawke,

Unless I misunderstand your explanation below, the only discrepancy here is that your middle name is missing from one submittal, but appears everywhere else. Absence of middle names are not that big a deal with U.S. government agencies, and can usually be explained if the subject comes up.

Your minor children can be added to the NVC record by submitting their birth certificates to the NVC with a request that they be added to your processing case for which you are the "primary" applicant.

Middle name is missing on all documents except Birth Certificate and Approved Petition.

I Will send Birth Certificate of minor children along with Family Registration certificate from govt registration authority which will have entries of all family with pictures.

will this delay the processing or not because DS-260 is not active yet and not Invoiced

                            • got a question re: DS 260. I am the principal applicant and was able to complete my Ds 260 form online. I have 4 dependents who are accompanying me. Two of them we were able to complete the forms as they were listed as 'accompany' making their forms available. The other two for some reason was listed as 'follow to join' thus making their forms are not available for us to fill up. I don't know why their status is 'follow to join' when I answered 'yes" to the question is this family member accompanying you. How can we change their status? Who can make the forms available?

I am so happy and appreciate your responses which answered all of my questions about DS-260 before figuring out this forum. I am still waiting for the $325 invoice of DS-260 and complete it online then. However, I have another question about I-485 Application to Adjust Status. My mom is the principal applicant in Vietnam waiting for the visa interview. According to the I-485 instruction, I can submit I-485 for her now, a notice of bio-metric service will be sent later. However, she is not in the US yet. I am wondering if I should submit I-485 now or wait until she comes to the US. I would greatly appreciate if you could give me some clues about it.

                                Thank you,
