  • question about interview questions

I have my interview in 2 weeks and I am worried about my civics test. Do they ask questions beyond the 100 questions/ answers ? I know there is also English test but other than that, when the officer asks for example : "who is the the president of US now?" and you say "J. Biden"... Can they ask : "tell us more about him and etc"?Or is it strictly just those 100 questions?
I am taking it very seriously. I am learning everything by heart....
Also, do you have to bring all documents that you applied with to the interview ? In my letter it only says green card and "this letter" ...

    thank you in advance !!!

They don’t ask extras for civic test. Just know the answers.
take your tax returns just incase. You need to take your passport, green card and state ID or drivers license.
It would not hurt to take other things like birth certificate, marriage certificate etc if you have them.
you will be fine. Relax and remember your body language means a lot. Your English seems to be ok so just be yourself. Smile a little and be calm and polite.
    good luck

No, they ask from the 100 questions only. Strictly those 100 Qs with the exact wording.
No, they do not ask any follow-up questions to your answer.
And once you get 6 right answers, they stop.

Take enough documentation to support everything on your application - your academics, employment, personal & family life etc. Better have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
      See this checklist - https://www.immihelp.com/us-naturali...ent-checklist/

and be prepared with supporting evidence for any question that may come up regarding your background (arrest or court appearance, divorce, multiple marriages, unemployment etc).

If your receipt date is before Dec 1, 2020, you will get the old 2008 version with a random draw of 10 out of 100. If you get 6 right, you will have passed and the civics portion will end.
No, there are no follow ups.

With regard to the N-400, some youtubers suggest they ask vocab such as 'do you know what being charged is?, 'can you tell me what it is to commit genocide?", "what is a paramilitary unit?" etc etc.
I am a political scientist -not a criminologist but the latter two terms have extensive, detailed, and often contested definitions in the field with scholars writing and publishing works challenging each other's conceptualization and operationalization of these concepts. And yet, USCIS looks for the simplest answers. So, I had to memorize all the simple, 'elevator pitch' versions, bearing in mind that the officer doesn't want to sit there with myself lecturing about these concepts and citing scholarly works of this and that.
        Aand....I got no vocab questions.
My officer was very nice but it was clear he had others lined up and was trying to get it done and wrapped up.

make sure you know your Rep (unless you are in D.C..), Senators and I am assuming you would know the three: JB, Harris, and Pelosi and what their roles are!
I figured things would have been a bit tricky for those with interviews on 1/20 but USCIS closed its offices on that day so this was a moot point.
I did have a new Rep come in though since those are sworn in on the 4th.
