Hi,
Please help me understand the below.
My husband and I appeared in US Consulate New Delhi on July 23, 2013. I had applied for F1 (COS from H4 To F1 was already approved a month back).
He applied for H1b-enewal and was given 221g white form under administrative processing. He was asked general questions about his background and siblings name by VO.
He went through a similar process in november 2010 for his first H1b stamping and was issued a pink slip but his visa was approved on April 2011 (5 months).

Please can anyone help us understand that how long could be the processing time? Specially taking into consideration that this is his second time?

As you already know how 221g works.. timing is not guaranteed. Its 2 to 6 months standard time.. Sorry to say that but thats generally true.. If your name is not a common muslim name then it could be faster... best of luck sister.

No brother, there are no updates on my case. Mine still stuck at 11-JUNE. I had good amount of updates and there after no updates. So at this time, I stopped analyzing any trends. When it comes it comes like our great guru (Mirza) said.

Looks like there is activity but as I am coming close to 365 days of wait time....I am not sure if I should get excited or just still hang in there. Pls pray that this nightmare ends for me and all of us as well...Inshallah....

Also for case reason it is written ' Hold case/221 G & Refusals/214B ' . I am not sure why they have given 214b refusal . They have kept her passport. So my first question is
This is common for everyone.

1. is her visa already refused ?
No it means its under processing.

2. Second we have i phones and we have not e mailed each other much. I contacted apple but they responded to my e mail that they can not even get he call logs of face time .
It's not mandatory that you should speak before marriage. If you used WatsUp, there is an option now available to email your chat. I dont know how personal your chat was but thats an option.

3. What else we can provide to submit our relation ship ?
Marriage and reception photos. You mention your harddrive crashed, these days every one carries phone in their pockets, I am sure some one else must have taken some pictures from their personal phones on your marriage. Call your relatives and ask if they have any soft copies, print hard copy and submit to consulate. Make sure you get photos, its very important to prove you are married.

If you cannot get your marriage photos, as a last option, you can recover data from your hard drive (if you have not formatted it) they are vendors/shops that do it, they might charge Rs 3000 +. But they will restore all data back.

4. also during the interview she asked how many people attended your marriage and she said 50 as ours one was a small one and we have only few coming to our fire ceremony and very few to our reception as we want to keep it simple.
I dont think this should be a problem, if you would have done a registered marriage only 3-5 people are required. But did you get marriage certificate from your local government office.

Make sure you carry,
1. Marriage cerificate issued by your local government office.
2. Any picture of your marriage/reception with you two standing with your family/relatives, does not matter if its a cellphone.
3. I am sure, you must have made atleast 10-15 calls by phone when your internet wasn't working. Just check your monthly phone bill, either in US or in India. Take them with you as proof.
4. Your wedding card if you have any left.
5. If you have videos recorded, you can take picture from the video, if you dont have any videos, thats fine too.
6. If you have already taken any Aadhar Card with your pictures/ Gas connection for your home under you two name/ Any govertment issued Id which has both of your names on it.

Jazakallah bro for boosting my morale. Insallah I hope next week is my last and I can be back in the US by next weekend. I cant tell you how overwhelmed I have been. In a way I am actually numb....dont feel anything and just yesterday I was thinking that I even forgot that I actually lived/worked in US. I Pray for everyone here....Inshallah this will end soon and we all can get back to our normal lives. I'll call you later tonight bhai....And FYI my passports and original I797 have been with the consulate all through....If I get an email or call I'll rush and pick then up myself.

Sameer Bhai, In Sha Allah you will get issued on Monday for sure.. Multiple updates is a good sign for sure.. I have a friend Habeeb who got his visa issued today. His last update was also Aug 12th, 14th and today (issued)... Do you have passports with your or with consulate? If the passport is with you then you may get a call or email requesting to submit the passports.

I had suggested Mirza and Asad to call DOS and request to place an enquiry as 6 months wait is complete. Mirza's case was put an enquiry and he got visa within a week. But for Asad's case enquiry was denied as he was told by multiple DOS CSR agents that they were able to see the udpates in Hyd Consulate and they are working on it actively. Hence they cannot place an enquiry.... Even Asad got the visa in 2 weeks.

Mustafa and myself have completed six months now.. For both of us DOS agents told that they cannot place an enquiry as Hyd consulate is actively working on it. And the updates they see on the system show that the case is appropriately progressing and its just matter of time... In Sha Allah within a week or so we will get an update...

HI , All I need some urgent advise . MY wife applied for H4 visa . She was given 221g white form stating that her visa will require further administrative process. Q week later she received a call from embassy asking for more pictures. She went to submit the documents to ocf but they refued to take the documents stating that they dont have any thing in there records that embassy has asked any thing. Now we e mailed them . Initially we did not get any response but on the second e mail we got a response in 1 day that we will contact you and then next day they send another email requesting ' For further processing of your case , you are required to submit the photo albums, call logs, emails. Kindly carry a copy of this email along with you '

You dont have to worry if your case hasnt been updated once. One of our friends on this forum mirza appeared last december (2012). his case was not updated once. The first time it got updated was August 6th 2013 and his visa was issued on August7th. I think this should give you hope. hang in there.....I think I have the right to say that cuz I have been doing the same for 1 year now :-)

I am surprised to know that you are waiting since so long. as per my experience, we can not predict anything on the basis of updates.I have seen so many case updated & issued on same day and some of them only get update. there is no change except a updated dated.

I am also waiting since feb 2013(Delhi-Fresh H1b) and my case is not updated for a single time till today.What would you say about my case. they forgot my case .....or they will send my case back to USCIS.I am about to lose my job. advise me please ..what to do?

Congratulations bro...I did not have time to visit this forum for a few weeks and when I just checked I found that you are done waiting. good for you...pls share your US contact info or I can get from Mukarram bhai as well....I hope it all works out for us too...you did not have any progress on your case update date and when that finally happened your visa was issued. I am still waiting but if you remember I had mentioned that my status was incorrectly showing "refused" because of their site problem.....well finally they fixed that issue I think and now its back to "administrative processing". Also the case was updated on Aug12th which is also a good sign. I hope it resolves soon Inshallah. I had called DOS and they said they cannot raise any inquiry because they see that my case is constantly being worked on at the consulate...so thats a good sign too. But no high hopes because all that has already happened to me in the past without any luck. lets see


for everyone that is new to this forum...I think I am the oldest candidate here with a wait time of 11months and 20days.....On August 24 of this year I will celebrate my 1 year anniversary of 221g :-)
