Thanks Adnan. Yes the wait has finally ended. Initially it was not easy to digest the fact that the visa was put on hold... but I was able to make peace with the situation. Thanks to you for starting this thread... it has helped a lot of us with mutual support and information exchange.

Yes I agree.. it is really painful.. I remember I spoke to you..soon after I received my passport back with visa.. and could totally understand how you and everyone here who is stuck with this 221g demon... feels... as I have gone through it... AH i think I got lucky though.. as my case got cleared in one month.. not sure how.. just pure luck...and by Almighty's grace...

Yes.. at that time.. I did not see any current thread talking about 221g white paper for HYD.. so i started this... thought it could be little pay back to this community.. which has helped me and many others.. with their valuable suggestions and timely answers by lot of community members.. trying to help each other... and even though... my case got cleared.. I am usual member going through different posts.... I am glad I shared my experience..

Hi... Yes.. I did get my visa back in Jan around 9th I believe..My interview date was 10th Dec. OFC on 7th Dec... another observation.. that I saw when the visa was issued to me.. was.... that the clearance was received on 20th Dec 2012.. however visa was issued on Jan 7th 2013 of this month.. and on 8th I received email to pick it up... I believe.. by the time I saw the email and reach consulate.. it was almost 5PM.. had to go the next day to collect it..



Best of luck to all the people who got stuck with this 221g demon.. but like many others say.. enjoy the stay with your family members... and there is hope and surety that these cases get cleared.. but might take time...

I have picked my (and wife's) passport form the Hyd US Consulate. I will be leaving shortly to US (before this weekend).
I live in North Jersey and work in New York City. If any of you stuck here on 221G need any kind of help in NJ/NY, please let me know.

Hang in there guys, thats all I can offer. From (the 8 month) experience I can tell you this: you have to let the consulate authorities do what they have to do and no amount of worrying, panicking, fretting etc will help the cause. Just try and spend quality time in India with your families and friends.

221g White Slip New Delhi

Hello every one,

I had attended visa intw(H1B) at hyderabad in Oct 2012 and got a 221G white slip, asking for additional docs like employee list, techinal details of the project, targeted customers. We had submitted the docs in 2weeks. After two months i got a call telling that the company doesnt seem to be a development company and i will get into problems if i go there and were suggesting me to with draw the petition. But my frnd is already working there and i said it is a development company and asked them to continue the process. After almost 7months, they called me today asking to appear for a reinterview on monday. she just asked to carry the passport and the mail they will be sending for the interview. Now i am worried, y are they calling again..is it a positive sign or again they say the same story...please adivise if any one has any idea bout such cases.

couple of months back 2 people who got processed thru this compnay had their stamping done and my friend who had come on a visit to india last week, also got her stamping done wth out checkig any documents.

Here is a recap of my case:
2002 got F1 visa with no issues at Chennai (Hyderabad did not have an US embassy back then)
2003 travled to US.
Left US in Jul 2006 but before coming to India stopped at Vancouver to get H1B stamped. 3 Yr visa stamped with no issues.
Oct 2006 re-entered US on H1B. Feb 2007 changed employer.
2008 Got married and wife appeared for H4 at Chennai. No issues. Sep 2008 changed employer.
2010 came to India on vacation and went for stamping renewal at Hyd (H1B & H4). Visa stamped with no issues. Visa expiry was Sep 2012.

I was hesitant to come to India hearing about so many admin processing issues (my 2 best friends had to go through 221g in 2011 and 2012). But due to a family emergency I came to India in Dec 2012 and scheduled an interview. My wife and I were issued a 221g and today my status finally changed to "issued".

I am a full time employee with a bank with an approved I-140. No docs were asked and the only thing I had to provide was the questionnaire and resume in txt format.

Interview Date 10th June
Document Submitted on 21th June
First Update on 24th June
Second Update in 2nd Aug
Issued on 5th Aug.
Passport received on 8th Aug.

Total 57 days to process 221G in my case.

Good luck guys, hope everyone gets their visa issued soon.
