    Employment Verification

I work in EVC model and did anyone else or person you guys know received a similar letter and do we have to provide client letter in addition to Employment verification letter? I have been working remotely for the client and have all the latest pay stubs.

    Recap of my case:

Interview date: March 19th 2013, VO said visa approved, retained passports and I 797 and handed over white 221G and have replied to a basic questionnaire.

This is my 3rd H1 stamping and 3rd admin processing as well, but was never asked anything like this before. Have been living in U.S. since 2001.

    Thanks!!
Though its not common, but it is possible. So don't worry. It's just that your visa has been in process for more than 5 months now, US Embassy wants to verify if you are still employed and did not loose job.

I think it would be better if you submit below,
    1. Most recent pay stubs (atleast 2 months).
    2. Employer verification letter from your employer for which you applied for stamping (Dated not more than 15 days).
    3. Active Purchase Order between your client and your employer for your position or Client Letter from the client stating you are still working for the client (Dated not more than 15 days).

** This is not a legal advice. I am no expert.

221g white slip, New Delhi, No Docs asked, H1B renew

    Hi All,
I was interviewed at New Delhi May 20, and my status first got updated on August 16 and second time on August 22, and it is still showing "Administrative Processing". I applied for H1b renew and I had F1 before.
Can anybody suggest what does that mean?
    Thanks.

    Tahersub4t,

Thanks for the encouraging words. My port of entry is Houston, TX. I am a little worried because even my immigration attorney told me that the visa will be issued (probably with some delays), but the actual problem could be at the POE. He told me that they might take me for a secondary interview mostly, and there is a remote chance that they might detain me for some time.

My suggestion to you is, don't google too much, you will endup loosing your sleep by thinking about unrealistic things.

I have been researching about problems at the Port of Entry for people having any kind of criminal history. Does anybody know of cases (misdemeanor B that was dismissed 3 years ago in my case) where people have faced issues at the POE such as being sent back?

    Thanks,

    5. They didn't ask for a single supporting document first time and the same is true for now.
This is definitely a good sign. This in a way shows that the 221g is not related to EVR Model. Otherwise they usually ask documents. Other way to know if it is EVR model related 221g is by Interview questions, if your husband was asked any questions about his employer being controlling his employers at client location, if no such questions were asked then probably, 221g is not related to EVR.

    3. He's been with the same company for the original as well as renewal for H1-b. but the clients is different since then.
This is good, that he is applying for renewal with the same company.

    1. His name falls under the common community name 'Singh'
Mostly, this could be the reason for 221g. Like Munna said, since it's not a common muslim name he might get it fast.

It's been 4 weeks today and we are still waiting on any updates.
Give atleast 2-3 month time (you might get early, you never know). Below case is very similar to your husband's case. He got it in 3 months, please refer to his posts.

Thanks Taher for your detailed response.
Some more details on my husband background is as below:
    1. His name falls under the common community name 'Singh'
    2. Also he works for a company based out of Chicago but works on the client site. So employer/client concern might be the concern too.
    3. He's been with the same company for the original as well as renewal for H1-b. but the clients is different since then.
    4. First time he was issued a pink slip. This time its white.
    5. They didn't ask for a single supporting document first time and the same is true for now.

    Thanks again

    Reason for 221g

Please help me understand the below.
My husband and I appeared in US Consulate New Delhi on July 23, 2013. I had applied for F1 (COS from H4 To F1 was already approved a month back).
He applied for H1b-enewal and was given 221g white form under administrative processing. He was asked general questions about his background and siblings name by VO.
He went through a similar process in november 2010 for his first H1b stamping and was issued a pink slip but his visa was approved on April 2011 (5 months).

Please can anyone help us understand that how long could be the processing time? Specially taking into consideration that this is his second time?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Regards
    Preet
    First few questions,
    1. Is he Full time Employee to Client?
    2. Was he renewing H1 B with the same employer he had stamped earlier?

There could be many reasons for 221g, common name is one of the reason. If your husband is working for a small US company or if he is EVR model (Employee Vendor Relation) is he working as consultant? Then that could be one of the reason for 221g.

    @Munna
Common name need not be just muslim name, common name could be from any community, Kumar, Singh, Khan, Mohammed, Ravi etc...

If your husband is full time employee and if he has common name from your community, then most probably he got 221g because of his name. What I have read is if you get 221g once, you will get it every time you go for stamping and I found this true. So don't be shocked with the fact that he got 221g this time as well.

Now regarding waiting time, for few, first time waiting time was more comparing to following stamping (Ex: 221gproblem). For few, every time waiting time was same (Ex: USER553), for few, first time waiting time was less but following stamping waiting time was more.

There's no point in analyzing pdf's or cases because nothing works. There is no pattern in which US embassy resolves cases. Good thing is rejections are very very rare if you are genuine and the company you are working for in US is good.

Just reply to their email with all documents (including supporting documents) they have requested and do follow ups.

By the way which color 221g did he get ?

My wife's H4 got issued on Aug 13th at chennai consulate.

    Recap of case:
    Feb 25th: Interview
    April 18th: Docs submitted
Case Date Updated: 3-4 times in July & Aug
    Final Updated Date: Aug 13th

I can say that email support with details if u r waiting for more than 90 days, that helped me because they responded for my emails and got d updates.
This might be good for ppl whose visa got stuck with missing docs or late submission not the regular 221G administrative processing.

    Thanks
Congracts Dude. Enjoy rest of your stay in India.
