Anyone has any updates on their cases, atleast status date updates ?

I am clueless its almost a month now and no updates for my case...

7 months and no updates.
In fact there has never been an update on my case since the visa interview.

221g (10 weeks and still waiting)

Hi,
I have been following this thread for sometime now. I am also a victim of 221g. Applied for fresh H1B at chennai consulate on 2nd may 2013. I was issued a pink slip with no documents asked. There has been no updates since then. I had a question. I already have B1 stamped in my passport. I need to travel to US for couple of weeks for my current project. Is it possible that I withdraw my passport and travel to US while my H1 administrative processing is still on? Will it impact my current proccessing time?
Please suggest.

Warning- Unasked advice coming up
To make it easy on yourself try to use this time to get something useful done. Learn something new, travel around India, visit old friends/relatives, get fitter, maybe even try to make a difference around you with what you have learnt in the US. This will help you stay positive while giving you a sense of accomplishment (which can't be bad at all).

Response time depends on which email Id you had sent email to. Usually they will respond with in 5 days of time.

It's hard to say that your email had an effect on your date change but at the same time we cannot deny it, it could be. There is no specific pattern, fashion, or timelines embassy follow.

What I suggest you is, at-least once a week you call either DOS (Department of State) and speak to a live person and check status on your case or you can also speak to US Consulate (live Person) and ask status update on your case.

Please share details on your case, your interview date and if any documents, ears of stay in US, working Full time / EVR model, or any other information you think might help others.

Background: Previously worked on H1 for 3 yrs as a researcher in biotech field, probably triggering a TAL (just speculating). Before that, was a Ph.D student on F1 for 4 yrs. Total yrs in the US: 9.

I haven't received any replies yet from them, but my status update changed to 5th July for the first time ever, since the creation date. Is that because I contacted them and someone touched the case just to verify the email etc? I guess there is no point hoping that something will come of this status change, right?

Visa Issued !

My visa was issued today. A quick summary for all.

H1-B re-stamping at Kolkata consulate.

IV : 4th April 2013
Docs submitted: 5th April 2013
Status Update: 3rd July 2013
Visa Issued : 5th July 2013.

Adding my case:

IV:4th April 2013.

Passport retained.All docs returned. Issued 221 g white slip.Asked to submit complete CV,technical publications and a document explaining the practical implications of my work.The other thing to note here is that the option of admin check is not ticked. The VO just wrote "other" on the 221 g slip.Although my CEAC shows "administrative processing"

Docs Submitted : 5th April 2013.

2 previous H1-B stamping.(2008,2012).Received 221g in April 2012 in Ottawa.Regarding my 221g last year,I was not asked to submit any documentation and the white slip there just had admin processing ticked .This was Cleared in 42 days.

Sounds like a standard reply as they are only describing what one can expect during administrative processing.

My lawyer sent an email to the legalnet,Visa office,DOS reagarding my case status and he got the below reply. Can some please let me know is this a standard reply or they actually talking about my case.

At your request, we reviewed Mr. Shaik’s visa record and found that a consular officer refused his visa application under section 221(g) of the INA for administrative processing. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with any guidance as to how long this process may take. However, you may be assured that every effort will be made to reach a conclusion as soon as possible. Mr. Shaik will be notified once administrative processing is completed and further action on his case is possible.

I rcvd 221g blue form by post to my home address yesterday stating I need to submit passport.

Recap of my case

First time H1B stamping
Interview date: 8th Jan 2013 - Chennai Consulate
got 221g white for project documents
docs submitted: 18th April 2013
status updated date on ceac: 11-Jun (status- admin processing)

Rcvd letter: July-1

Total wait time: 72 days
