Hi All,


Looks like my admin process is done!
I rcvd 221g blue form by post to my home address yesterday stating I need to submit passport.

Recap of my case

First time H1B stamping
Interview date: 8th Jan 2013 - Chennai Consulate
got 221g white for project documents
docs submitted: 18th April 2013
status updated date on ceac: 11-Jun (status- admin processing)

Rcvd letter: July-1

Total wait time: 72 days

Hi ALL,
I need some personal help, and am hoping that someone from HYD can help me out. I need to know if anyone here has someone coming from US to HYD in the nearest future. I have a small envelope that I need someone to hand carry for me. It is needed for my work and as I am stuck in HYD due to the 221g it is critical that I get it. I am also trying to use Fedex but as per Fedex reps in US, as the package is work (business) related, the customs in India will not accept the package and send it back. That's a risk and will eat up a lot of my time.

I understand that this is a personal favor, but if someone can help I can explain and give every little detail....

What is Legalnet? i saw in one of the posts

after reading this thread, i had asked my lawyer to write a mil to Consualate. Even for her same reply.
''Your application is currently pending under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) for administrative processing. In this instance, post is attempting to independently verify certain information presented by you at the time of interview and in subsequent submissions. Please be assured that we will contact you as soon as this processing is complete.''

According to AILA guidelines if your case is pending for more than 90 days of document submission than your lawyer can write to leagalnet to find status of your case. LegalNet only replies to the lawyers. I think Legalnet is the way for Lawyers to reach out to DOS.

H1B Waiting from more than 3 months

Hi snbtcca,

I attended Interview on 21st march in Hyd consulate. VO gave White slip and told me that i will receive a mail.On the same day itself i received the mail.I replied to the mail on 22nd march.From that time status has not changed.Last updated date also not changed.

If they are issuing visas to Chennai then why not to Hyderabad, I was interviewed on in first week of May, had frequent updates. All of the sudden no updates for my case for the past 3 weeks. I think they process cases in a batch by consulate... they might be processing Chennai cases now... they will get back to Hyderabad... is that what it means :-?

I'm afraid this may not be a true conclusion however much we wish otherwise.
Both the posts were reporting updates all this while till the updates stopped pouring in from Hyd consulate.

One Consulate at a Time

All, DOS has updated me twice now that all the information is with Delhi consulate and it is pending for their decision.
Appreciate if anyone can guide on next steps or on how to reach consulate to get updates.

Thats exactly what they said when I called them. They said your case is with Hyderabad Consulate. I don't know what that means. When I call Hyderabad consulate they say its admin processing and when I ask them how much time it will take, they say it solely depends on US Embassy... and I decided to just wait, nothing much I can do at this time...

H1 B visa (renew)

I also called DOS and they said your case is processing at embassy. I'm guessing H1 b visa holders are getting lower priority to have them cleared form embassy compared to F1's.

All, DOS has updated me twice now that all the information is with Delhi consulate and it is pending for their decision.
