Few Basic questions regarding B1/B2 visa application process

Hi,

My name is Rajkumar and I am from Bangalore. Recently I got married and my wife is working in US. She recently got a job in US after completing her graduation and is currently in OPT(Working). I work in an MNC in Bangalore and I have a decent salary. I would like to visit her in the month of June and wish to know answers to few queries as it seems everyone has different opinion about the process.

1. Is it good to apply for B1/B2 or as a dependent F2 ??
2. Is there any rule which says one should travel within 90 days of issuance of visa ??
3. I have been to several countries before as tourist and this is also sponsored by myself, what sort of additional documents belonging to my wife should I carry along ??
4. Once you submit the DS-160 form, within how many days should I schedule my interview ??
5. My travel dates are about 5 months from now, is it good to apply for visa now itself ??
6. For proof of funds are my payslip sufficient ??
