Hi,
My original approved petition documents were not delivered and returned back to USCIS, My employer try to get the original documents. Can I go visa interview without originals.
Currently I am having only i797 soft copies and affidavit which is issued by immigration attorney. I have a interview by this month end, can I go visa interview without original i797 copy. Please provide me your inputs on this.

Hi All , I had visa interview yesterday. This is my second h1 b stamping and first time in Canada . VO asked questions about location , end client name and what they do , if I get paid competitive wages or not , job title and then questions on my education . I did masters in 2010 in the USA so he asked about that .After that I was doing another MS in another university so he asked about that if I was there in 2014 . 2014 is the year when I got my h1 and did stamping in India. So I explained that as well . He kept my passport and i797 and said they need to verify some information and gave me case number . He said no documents required from you or university. Do anyone has similar experience? Since they don’t need any documents I just have to wait. You can contact me on [email protected] if you have any more information.

Filing amendment while in India, can I travel while it's under processing?
Hi All,
I had entered in the US on F1 and my first 1 year H1b started from 2016 with company A, Company B had filed my extension/transfer before my H1b got expired which USCIS took 8 months to ultimately deny the petition. While my extension/transfer was under processing, I had Company C who also filed my petition which got approved (without i94) 2 days after Company B's denial petition as a result I was out of status and had to leave the country and get my h1b visa stamped. In the interview they gave me 221g and approved it after 8.5 months but by that time my client letter got expired (client also moved to a nearby city).
I didn't want to take risk at the port of entry, so gave interviews job (genuine client) while i'm still in India. Now my questions are
1. Should I just take a risk and travel as if I still have a job with my old client (whose client letter now got expired)
-or-
1. Can I travel to the US while my h1b amendment petition is under process (the client won't give a letter until I join and for amendment to get approved I need a client letter)?
2. If I enter the US, can I work with this client?
3. Worst case scenario, i enter and my amendment gets denied, what would happen?

Here is my timeline of events.
Jul 3 dropped off my passport along with current and prev I797 and just passport for my wife.
Jul 4-5: no status. Holiday
Jul 6-7: no status. Weekend
Jul 8: Application Received; Administrative Processing
Jul 9: Visa Issued; Passport ready for pickup
I'm a direct hire employee and always have been though changed employers. This is my 4th H1 stamping.

221g blue slip@chennai
Hi all,
I have attended interview on March 23 in Chennai location .I have been issued 221g blue slip asking for sow documents from employer at the time of interview.After a month or so I have again got a mail from consulate with another query asking for tax documents of end client .
My employer has sent the documents on 05/07 for both documemts to consulate.
My case has been in AP till date from the time of interview.
Can someone please let me know how much time on average will take to get decision.

I got a benefited reading through the experiences of many people. Here goes my experience.
Day 1(07/02) Finger Printing and Photograph--smooth and normal procedure. Just need to carry passport, DS-160 and appointment confirmation.
Day 2(07/03)-- Actual interview. The must document is passport with sticker(By VAC), DS-160 stamped by VAC ,Appointment confirmation, I-797.Supporting document you can take many things.
All general question asked as below...
1.What your sponsor company does?
2.How long you are working here?
3.What is your salary?
4.Where are you going to work?
5.What is the city you are going to work?
6.When you will go to USA?
7.For what you have gone to USA before?
8.what kind of work you have done in past.
9.how long you are married(to my wife)?
10.How many kids you have?
Then golden word came your VISA approved. Same day night it started showing issued. I am amazed with the speed.

Dropbox Bangalore June 2019
Here is my experience for H1B renewal using dropbox at Bangalore for Chennai Consulate.
26 June: Dropped visa for renewal at Bangalore dropbox
2 July: Status Administrative Processing (ofcourse got worried as my previous I-129 was denied and then the current one was approved; NO visa rejection till date. Was hoping this was due to the 4th of July holiday break, Checked email and no message/notice for 221 was sent to me, so tried to be patient and wait till Monday)
8 July (Monday): Issued (per CEAC). I checked around 12:30pm.
Per CGI - Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery.
Heaved a sigh of relief. Will update once PP & visa is in hand.
Hope this helps someone. Be patient especially around US holidays!

H1b dropbox at Mumbai US consulate
I dropped documents at Visa application center ( at parinee crescenzo) in Mumbai on 18th June.
I carried photos from CVS in USA which was approved by their software for all the requirements. Still the staff at document collection center refused to take those pics and had me taken the pics at right next to their office. they charged Rs.400 for four photos.
Tip: Take some money with you in case are asked to take pictures. Do not carry phones. The same place that took my pics, charges Rs. 400 to store your phone if you carried the phone with you.
Anyway coming back to documents. They will only take your I-797 copy, passport and pictures.
Got the phone from the blue dart to pick up my passport on 22nd june. When i went to pick up passport, I found the green slip to appear for interview. I was prepared for it anyway so did not find it strange. you can go for interview any day between 10:30 to 11.
Important tip: please check the ustraveldocs website for their holiday schedule before going for interview. Be very careful to check following

I had interview on 27th June. Visa officer approved the visa. For 3 business days, online status showed administrative process. On 3rd, the online status showed visa issued. on 4th I received passport from Blue dart.
