Indian Passport

Couple of weeks before, I came India for visit and re-issued my passport in India.

In 2018, I re-issued my passport from India only in 4 days on Aadhar Card with Post Verification (I changes my address -Kolhapur on passport). In USA, CKGS had given me timeline of 2-3 weeks.

March 2018-> As soon as I came India, I applied for passport re-issue online myself (NORMAL process) and booked appointment to PUNE PSK office for date 6th March, 4.30 PM time. Received SMS.

6th March -> Evening 4.00 PM, reached PSK office with only application print, old passport and Aadhar card. Completed formalities on Counter A-> B-> C within 25 mins. Old passport cancelled and returned. VISA is valid. Got receipt and left PSK office. On the way to home, I received SMS, your passport printing for file no.* is initiated. You will receive SMS one it is printed.

7th March -> Morning Received SMS, Passport is printed for file no.*. You will receive SMS once it is dispatched.

8th March -> Morning Received SMS. POST Police verification is initiated. Contact Thana within 3 weeks. Same day, Received Police's call for intimation to stay at home and keep documents ready for review. Evening, Police came home to inquiry/cross verify the address.

9th March -> Morning visited police station with all the documents and witness and completed the formality in 1 hour. By evening received SMS, Passport No.* dispatched and can be tracked using speed post tracking no. Best SMS and tracking system.

Saturday -> Half Day -> Morning, Passport arrived at head post office division.
Sunday -> Holiday

12th March -> Monday morning 10.00 am, Post man called up me for passport delivery, asked original ID and attested xerox. took signs on papers, handed over passport as well as passport cover. yepppiiieeee

I had opted for passport cover as well. Nice one. Now ready to travel again...

In 2007, when I issued my passport first time, it took me 9 months to get it, in spite of having all valid documents.

Applied for 10 year re-issue of Passport from the NYC area.
Shipped out application and dox on Feb 19th.

Used FedEx to ship application and receive new passport.

Online CKGS website auto generated FedEx label with Ohio address to ship out Passport renewal application and documents ~~ weird !

What's more weird is it costs you more $ to speak with someone / CKGS live agents to inquire....i spent around $25 + they wasted 5 days.

After 5 days my application packet was re-shipped to NYC (it should have gone to NYC to begin with).
After validating application, luckily there were no additional hiccups. Got new passport (and canceled old passport) in hand on March 7th

I have applied for passport renewal at Chicago - CKGS and it is pending with Consulate from the last 3 weeks, no updates so far .
Did anyone applied for passport renewal in Chicago Jurisdiction this year(2018) ? if so Have you got the renewed passport in hand ?.

Hello, my passport renewal application is on hold as CKGS Houston advised the copy of I 797 Notice of action (I 751 receipt copy) was unclear and that i should send a clear copy. The problem is the original itself has faded and become unclear in a few places due to wear and tear. if someone has experienced this and found a solution, please help me. I don't know if USCIS resends originals or how to go about it. Thank you

I'm applying a passport for my mom and my parents are seperated since 28 years - without any legal separation or divorce. What should I select the marital status as? If I select it as married/separated, should we be asked to produce any certificates related to marriage or separation in future when my mom applies for US visitor visa or further in future for Green card?

Hi My Visa/I 797/ I 94 all Expired on 15 Sep 2017 , I have been working on receipt notice and I sent Passport for renewal Last week as it was going top expire on 23rd May 2018, I got update from ckgs that "Currently applicant does not have a valid status; therefore applicant will have to visit the consulate for an interview and approval before further processing. Applicant will have to go through the 7 steps of applying before your visit. Your documents will be returned to you in 24-48 business hours" Do I need to have valid I 797 and Valid Visa stamp on my current passport or Just valid I 797 will do ?Please Help !!

My I-94 Expire on Feb 2018 but I have my visas till Nov 2019 and also I have valid passport till 2025. What are all the possible way to extend my I-94. Im planning to travel to India next month and will be back to US on the same month.

Kindly suggest me what I can do to extend my I-94.

May 24, 2017: DELIVERED TO HOME

May 23, 2017 12:43 pm Passport picked up by Fedex.

  Passport ‘Received’ at the CKGS application centre and is at the ‘Sorting Facility’ where it is being processed for delivery.

if there is no visa stamp in his new passport, will it effect on OPT approval. We have copies of old visa and all other important docs.

Now am on CPT. i have 2 months left for applying OPT. and i don't have option to travel to India for stamping.

Please give replay for this questions.
