Need help L1-A
Hi All, I need one help; My L1-A petition got approved. I want to get visa stamped. my problem is my kid(3 yrs) has not yet received passport; it will take at least 2 weeks to get his visa. What should I do in this case?
1. Get my visa stamped first and then get appointment for my spouse & kids dependent visa?
2. Get my and my spouse visa appointment first for stamping and process my kids visa later on?
3. Wait for my kid's passport and get visa stamped for all of us together.

Thanks in advance

L1-B Blanket Visa Approved in Chennai US CN
Its the time to thank all the posts because the posts here are true and will lead to grate success.
Only thing people should follow the same . .

My L1 B blanket visa got approved on this morning and am so excited!!

on 17th(yesterday) at OFC biometrics process. so simple as many said already.

I would like to stretch on interview part here.

As I observed people do same mistake again and again. 5 rejections in front of me!!. all due to telling unwanted answered though they didn't ask(like usual IT company interview :P ) . Guys it wont work out here. just answer to the point. they are not here to take knowledge transfer from your model/tool/framework. they are cleaver enough to understand in one word.

Questions:

after all usual process, I met VO. She was calm old lady and Wished me.
I was little tensed and wished back finally.

Vo: who is your petotioner?
me:answered(confidently).

vo: how long you work in xxx?
me:answered

vo:where you will work in us?
me: answered.

vo:why not somebody else going?
me: said valid reason as I have much involved in this model.

are you married?
me:yes

vo:why not your wife traveling with you?
Me:as it would be short term.

thats it. . stamped. wow. .

so excited cos i never expected this smooth. all god grace and my effort and ppl here.

Questions will increase if they find you struck and start explaining more than have not asked for. be confident. submit realistic model and get succeed. . please don't start KT to VO as they will be already stressed with listening to many people like us :)

Thank you all. . .it helped a lot.

L1 A Blanket Rejected - new L1A individual being filed, what are the chances?
Dear friends,

My L1A blanket visa got rejected last week after a brief interview, stating "Your blanket L-1 application is not clearly approvable under section 8CFR 214.2(I)(ii)(d) and INA 101(a)(15)(L) and has been refused under section 221(g)".

Main questions were...
Who do you work for, whats your salary in USD, whom will you report to, what your designation, Number of direct and indirect reports and how much % involved in management?

All answers were given correctly, I'm not sure why the visa got rejected.

Now my company is planning to file L1A individual (under premium processing). What are the chances of approval? can some of you share your experiences please if sailed in the same boat in the past? Also what are the expected questions? do they ask reason for rejection, if yes...what should be the reply?

L1B Visa Interview/Approved
Hi All,
I have been using this site for years for immigration and visa related information. So I did again before my interview this time.
I have been in US on L1B visa with my family for long term earlier and my company applied again. Me, my wife and son appeared for interview at Chennai US consulate and here is the detail of interaction with VO:

Me: Good morning mam, How are you today?
VO: Good, how are you?
Me: Wonderful!!

VO: Who is your petitioner?
Me: It’s my company “xxxxxx” (I had in mind if later she asked the name of person, I was ready to say the name on 129s petition)

VO: So you have been there at this site before?
Me: Yes Mam, I have been there on L1B visa last time.

VO: Is this a client site or your company’s office?
Me: It’s my company’s office.

VO: Where is it located?
Me: xxxxx

VO: What is that again?
Me: I started repeating and she asked if that was xxx then what? I repeated it is xx(Seemed like she was hearing the name of this place first time).

VO: OK, so is that in Maryland?
Me: Yes Mam, May be you know Baltimore, it’s there.

VO: So city name is xxxx?
Me: Yes Mam.

VO: So what you do?
Me: I design and develop our company’s xxx machines, This is the machine which converts xxxx to yyyy, It is very high speed and highly advanced machine.

VO: What this does again.
Me: It processes the xxxx and converts them into yyyy.

VO: Oh, so you design machines to produce yyyy and not that you make the yyyy.
Me: Yes Mam, our customers who buy these machines they make yyyy using our machines.

VO: Was your wife with you when you were there last time?
Me: Yes Mam.

VO: So can you show me the last VISA stamping, old passports of your son and yourself?
Me: Took out the old passports from Bag and showed the last L2 and L1 visas for my son and myself.

VO: So your last visa was issued in year xxxx, where are the VISA stamping for your son and wife for that year?
Me: Explained that I had visited India alone leaving my family in US for short trip so they don't have new stampings but I have all of the extension approvals.

VO: OK, fine. (after having look on old Visas and typing something for 20 seconds on her PC she returned the old passports).

VO: So how many kids you have? I see one here.
Me: Just one Mam.

VO: (Started stamping I129s for approval and told that your visa is approved) I am returning you two copies of I129, provide one copy to your CPD and keep one copy with you for travel and have a good day.
Me and my wife: Thanks a lot and you have a good day too.

(She didn’t ask anything from my wife or son).

Hope it helps readers!!
have a good day!!!

Silence for 20 Sec and then she said ‘your visa is approved’ very softly…. I could not listen - So asked again… ‘Sorry could you please repeat that…’

VO: Oh… Your visa is approved.
Me: Thanks you mam… Have a great day!

I feel - no need to worry much about L1A-I Approvals ... Be confident, polite, precise and clear on your answers… Must pay attention to questions asked and be ready with answers immediately. Most of the time if they keep typing on keyboard and do not pay much attention to your answer but yes listening in parallel… That means they are in mood to ‘Approve’ always!

Good luck and all the very best!!!
