In addition to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, there are several U.S. Consulates in China. They are located in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenyang. Each consulate serves a specific geographical area. Even though nonimmigrant visas are issued at all the consulates and the Embassy, immigrant visas are issued only from Guangzhou for the entirety of China.
