Question
I sent my application on Nov/06/2017. and I am scheduled to have a biometric test on Dec/04/2017

I just logged in and see my case completion estimate is 23 months (October 2019)
I live in Dallas Texas. So My question is that it really takes 23 months or less than estimate date?
Please answer me. I am really frustrated with it.

Thank you

Oath Ceremony-Kentucky

Interview: 11/14/2017
Oath Ceremony update online: 12/01/2017

I wonder how many days there are in between the notice day of oath (online) and the day of oath ceremony. The online system just says the oath ceremony is scheduled but does not say when! I will have to wait till I get the actual mail.

Dallas N400 experience
Hi All,

Yesterday I completed my Oath Ceremony in Dallas and wanted to share my N400 timeline. I hope it helps Dallas folks who are still waiting for the next steps in their application. Dallas seems to be really backed up. For me us took ~15 months from start to end. Me and my wife filed together.

     PD: 08/25/2016
     FP: 09/16/2016

After this there was a long wait about an year. We did see that some of our friends who filed around the same time got their interviews much sooner( in 9 months or so) . In our case though, the processing date on Dallas field office went beyond my PD and we still had no update. So we filed an enquiry online using the following link for both applications.

     https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

We did not call USCIS or schedule any info pass etc. After the above online enquiry in about 10 days we got an update for the interview scheduled for both of us.

Online update for Interview scheduled: 9/28/2017
    Interview date: 11/2/2017

After interview, I got a letter saying "Passed the test" but "A decision could not be made". My IO said that she need to rerun some background checks and review my application once again before she could approve. This is completely normal and there is nothing wrong with my application. I had absolutely no citations and my background was completely clean. But I did have 4 out of country trips after my application. So I thought maybe that is the reason she needs to run BG again. My wife’s interview was also on the same date and time but with different IO and she also received the same letter saying “Decision could not be made”.

For my wife’s case, we got an update for oath scheduled the very next day after the interview. Her oath was on 11/21/2017.

I received online update for my oath scheduled on 11/21/2017 and my oath was on 11/30/2017.

Finally it is all over!

Good luck to everyone!

Field Office
Hi,

I filed my n-400 application in September 2017 and am in line for interview since 10/24. My residency is New Jersey.
To check processing times online do I check Newark, New Jersey or Dallas (where application was sent)?

Also, my green card expires in February. If I need to travel after it expires but my n-400 is still being processed, do I need to submit a green card renewal application as well?

I Passed My Interview!
Hi! I passed my interview yesterday with flying colors! Yay! Praise the LORD! Thanks to this community :)

My IO was very nice and courteous. She smiled at me after calling my name. While on our way to her interview room, she asked me how my day was and even told me to relax because it would be over soon :) During the interview, she kept on reminding me to relax… take a deep breath. The interview lasted for about 10 minutes. Honestly, I was more nervous at the waiting area than the actual interview itself. I was comfortable and so relaxed throughout my interview. She went through my application and everything went well. She only asked for my DL, GC, Interview Appointment Notice, and passport. After the interview, she congratulated me and we discussed about the Oath Ceremony schedule. The ceremony will be on Friday, December 1st at 2 pm. I asked her if there’s available Oath Ceremony schedule near my area (local courthouse) so there would be a better probability for family and friends to join me on my ceremony. She believed that the schedule would be around April in 2018. What?! No way! That will be another 4-5 months of waiting! That wasn’t a good option at all so I just opted for this coming Friday ceremony.

Chicago filers
Does anybody have an update about Chicago?

That field office is taking ages. It's been 8 months since I filed my case and I don't think I am close to receiving an interview letter.

Thanks!
