Hi, I had F1 visa renewal interview on Dec 29. THe VO took my passport and resume and gave 221G blue form. He asked my about the school start date and I told him Jan 20. He told you will get visa in about 2 weeks. It has been now more than 2 weeks but the status is administrative processing. But from Jan 10 the status of passport has changed to "Status update not available for the passport". My school starts on Jan 20. I was wondering will I get my visa by then or what is the typical time taken for 221G forms

Hi, I had my F1 Visa interview on Dec 10th. Since then I am checking my Visa status in CGI Federal. I was given 221g blue and was told that they have to go through the docs (My resume and univ. letter) that I submitted during my interview. Till 23rd Dec the status said that "You passport is still with the US consulate". After that the status changed to " Document delivery information:". It has been more than week since that change (" Document delivery information:"). CEAC has not been updated with current date (last update was actually on 10th Dec, my interview day). And the US travel docs has no information on my passport. I have also sent an e-mail inquiry and got the response as "no status update available for this passport number". What does it mean when the status update says "Document delivery information:"? How long does it take to update the information in CEAC? Why is there this much discrepancy in the status? Have anyone gone through the same? Please help. Thanks a lot

Aug 28th - VO issued 221g blue slip & requested me to email additional documents(Client letter, original documents as filed with USCIS). He kept my passport & told no need to visit consulate again. I JUST HAVE TO EMAIL PDF DOCUMENTS. Sep 15th - Received back passport With one more copy of 221g blue slip with this point checked->"Your application requires additional administrative processing" Sep 26th - Emailed all requested documents. Received an automated reply saying they have received my email & will start processing my case upon receipt of the documents. I JUST EMAILED ALL THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS. I DID NOT EMAIL THE DOCUMENT SUBMISSION LETTER. I DID NOT NOT SUBMIT THE DOCUMENTS AT VFS SINCE THE VISA OFFICER NEVER TOLD ME TO DO SO. Nov 26 - Still under processing QUESTION 1. IS IT MANDATORY TO SUBMIT THE HARD COPY OF THE DOCUMENTS AT THE VFS ALONG WITH DOCUMENT SUBMISSION LETTER ? 2. IS IT MANDATORY TO EMAIL "DOCUMENT SUBMISSION LETTER" ALONG WITH OTHER REQUESTED DOCUMENTS

VO asked for client letter, submitted the client letter, but still issued 221g white slip. Can anyone please let me know from which email address the consulate will send updates/notifications?

was asked to submit invitation letter, resume, research, funding, itinerary, travel and travelers documents. I presume I fall under TAL but I do not do any research. have MS in Biomedical engineering from US and work in a Bioinformatics company; again I do not do any research in my current job.

Interviewed 30th November, F1 renewal. Been in the States for 5 years, did my B.S in bioengineering and started my M.S in Bioinformatics. Was called by the embassy later that day to send in my resume, it was received the same day. No updates since then. CEAC still says AP, with the latest update being the interview day. Passport tracker gives 'no status update available' mydashboard on traveldocs says 'document deliver information: ' in the last box, with no more information. I assume this is a TAL check. Classes start soon so this wait is pretty stressful. I GOT AN UPDATE TODAY!! JAN 5TH! Issued, Jan 6th

i have attended interview on 13th Nov at Toronto, Canada along with my Husband for L1 Processing. My Husband's L1 Visa got approved. For my Case VO has requested for Resume. We have submitted the resume on 14th Nov but haven't received any update since then. Received confirmation on 30-Dec and my visa is approved now. it took almost 5-6 weeks for administrative processing.

I gave F1 renewal interview on Nov 25 2014. I am a fifth year PhD student and came India to renew my visa after my 4 year visa expired (which was issued to me after 221(g) processing in 2010). After a minute of interview, the officer is said everything is fine but I need to answer few more questions and directed me to another window. There I was given a white slip requesting documents like resume, research summary etc. I submitted documents next day and waiting since then. I work in data science and machine learning related fields and have an excellent research and academic record. She asked me about my research field which is Machine Learning and then verified if I work on Robots. I said no and then she typed something on computer. I think its a TAL check. Status Changed -- Jan 1 2015 Visa Issued -- Jan 6 2015
