Marraige based Green Card Question
My girlfriend and I are planning to get married soon. We were also planning to put a petition for me (currently on F1) for AOS.

My girlfriend was previously married, had a child with her ex-husband and did the GC petition for him.

Will it be a problem if she puts a petition for her second husband i.e. me? Any issues that might come up?

My interview is on 06/11/19. Almost 6months after we filed. No ead yet.

I have one question. We are a fairly young my wife is 24 and im 26. We never told herr family and friends since she didnt want to YET because they have a stereotype in biracial marriage and think that im just using her for a greencard.

Weve been living together for over 6months now and we have joint bills, car and health insurance etc. we have tons of photos which we put in a timeline in an album.

My question is, will it affect our case if the officer ask about why the family of my wife doesnt know about our marriage.ive spent significant time with them and we have good bonding times its just that they dont know we are married.

Thank you in advance for the responses.

How long does it typically take to get the approval after the interview?

Houston TX Employment based
Just finished my interview 1 hour ago.
It went easy. Most of the time the officer spent is to approve me right there. But at the end she said the system is down and she couldnt' find an available visa??? She said she is sure I26 (???) is available but she cant pull it up. So she said she cant give me a better result, and then gave me the white paper. I have no idea what to think. She said if the visa (???) is available then the card will be produced and i will get it in the mail, if not they have to move my file back to uscis center ( or something like that ) and i will have to wait.

I am sooo confused. Let me know if anyone experienced the same.
Pray to god that it will be approved soon i am freaking out if the system did something wrong to my file.

I-90 Green Card Renewal
Hello,

Just wanting to share my green card renewal experience and background for those who might find themselves - or someone you know - in a similar situation.

I received my GC in 2008 (my early 20s) for 10 years (to expire 2018)

I had a two arrests since.

     - One that was over 7 years ago for dui, it was brought down to a reckless driving charge.
     - Another more than 3 years ago for the same reason, this time it became a DUI.
     - Both none violent.

I have left the country in those 10 years many times to travel to my home country and other places.
I have also received a bachelors degree from a 4 year institution.

I applied for my GC renewal six months exactly until the GC expiration date.
Timeline:

2018

 - May GC i-90 application filed
- May Biometrics appointment set up the same week
 - June Biometrics Reviewed

2019

Every month I would receive an email saying my case was still under review
- May 2019 I received a "We produced your GC it will arrive in the mail" email
   - Less than a week later I received my new GC for another 10 years.

thank you.

Very long processing
Good evening everyone, please i need explain what is likely to happen. I furnished an interview with my husband on June 4, everything was going on smooth until IO asked my hubby date of his divorce with his ex. The divorce date was showing 2007 and the date on his citizenship is 2012 but married. There IO asked my hubby why divorce on 2007 and still married 2012. But my husband was able to defend it that, he was not aware of the divorce, that the woman went back to there hometown to divorce her. So the date on the divorce cannot be changed by him. After IO didn’t give us any paper to sign for further review, rather he said they are going to do background checks on the divorce which is going to take a very long processing. Status hasn’t changed since. I am so depressed and I don’t know what what to do. My husband was just telling me to calm down that everything is going to be fine. Pls am sorry for my long epistle. Anyone with the similar experience pls let me know th outcome and what to prepare for. Thanks

LOS ANGELES
Hello Everyone,
I am proudly to say that I am officially a permanent resident. Thank god !!! It has been a long journey, I arrived in the US when I was 1 ½ and now I am in my thirties. Proud DACA recipient for six years (shout out to OBAMA). I want to tell everyone to be safe, patient, and enjoy life documented or undocumented at the end life moves forward. I had prepared for the worst and prayed for the best and learned a lot from this journey. I am graduating this Fall with my B.S in Business management and got a promotion last week, so the key is to make sure to keep moving forward. My dad was deported 7 years ago and so glad I am finally able to visit him. Patience and wisdom are the key to dealing with this process. This website has helped me, and I know it helps others, so I am here to share my stories. The lawyer did everything for me I applied for i-765, i-485, and i-130. Timeline goes
05/06/2018 PD
05/20/2018 Biometrics letter
06/07/2018 Biometrics *please make sure to check barcodes for all the applications
09/28/2018 EAD received
03/22/2019 interview letter
04/21/2019 Interview *Interview experience in my profile for more info
This is where being patient and being positive is the key to survive the wait. During my interview at the end, my biometrics were not there and had to redo them. Later on, I checked, and the i-485 barcode was not there. I-130 in case status was approved on 04/24/2019.
05/05/2019 Redo Biometrics
05/31/2019 Card produced
06/06/2019 Card in hand
I recommend signing up for text messages alerts rather than checking case status a million times a day. This will help the anxiety trust me. I waited for the post office lady since I had received a tracking number via case status. I popped my Don Perignon and even offered the post office lady some lol. Anyways now next step citizenship. Thanks to everyone experiences.
