8.05.2016 "on august 5th we schedule you for your interview and mailed the notice .. interview is on September 8th 2016"
9.08.2016 marriage interview federal plaza nyc 4th floor- at 12;45 came early and started at 11;45. approved on the spot
9.08.2016 1pm status changed card was ordered in production
9.08.2016 4pm status changed again - welcome letter and approval was mailed out to me
9.13.2016 welcome letter was received in the mail and status changed again - card was mailed out if don't receive by oct 13 contact uscis ( no tracking number was given)
9.19.2016 - green card was in my hands :)

the whole process was roughly 8 months. Even though many people at nyc took longer than a year, I think it is case by case. Some people get instant approval some have to wait 60 days. Every case is different just relaxed and be patient :) My lawyer thought it would take me at least 10-11 months too and he was wrong. If your love is real they will see it don't worry :) Good luck everyone!! message me if you need help! I am really grateful for this website, it helped me a lot.

background information husband is USC born in Hawaii and parents born here too. I am Chinese Canadian was on F1 VISA until i graduated college in 2015 then went on opt and we got married.

AOS timeline
This is my first time posting here but I've been visiting this forum since months. Yesterday I received a notification about my EAD card being produced, I'm so excited! Well, I owe a lot to this forum because many of the questions that I had when I was preparing my AOS package were solved by reading somebody else's experience. Now I'm going to share my journey so far and hopefully it will help someone out there :)

I started dating with my (now) spouse in July 2014 in Chile, after I got back from working in the US under an H1B-1 visa for 3 years (I'm chilean, he is US citizen and chilean). Then we lived together shortly after dating and last year we decided to come to Florida on vacation. After some weeks he proposed me and we decided to get married in Florida. My timeline is as follows:

01/11/16 Entered the US under B2 visa
02/14/16 Got proposed
04/08/16 Got married in Fort Lauderdale, FL
07/01/16 Sent AOS package (I-130, I-485, I-765)
07/05/16 Priority date
07/08/16 Case status (I-485): Fingerprint fee was received.
01/08/16 Biometrics appointment.
09/17/16 Case status (I-765): We ordered your new card (EAD)
09/18/16 Case status (I-765): Approved

So far it's been smooth. No RFEs and I prepared the package by myself (it took me like a month and half, plus hours and hours googling). My field office is Oakland Park, and I did not overstayed my visa.

Thanks and good luck to you all!

Adjustment of Status
A friend of mine is living in USA for last 17 years with his spouse. They have no children. They entered legally on visit visa and overstayed. They have been working throughout and paying the taxes. They have no criminal records.

His sibling had applied for his green card after he had overstayed for four years and his case is now current for his interview in his home country. Can he apply for adjustment of status on the immigration current case and get himself interviewed in USA? What are the chances of success?

I'll be obliged if someone can help and guide if it is possible.
