Applying for AP In Process
Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone has had this experience. I came in as a minor and later received TPS so because of the way the law is written I have not accrued any unlawful presence time for the 3 and 10 year ban. I know that it still applies to the permabent ban.
I asked my lawyer to start the process for advance parole so that I may travel for work to Canada. I'm a bit nervous that I will not be allowed back in because of the unlawful presence but I've never left the US. I also have a clean record.
I enjoy reading the experiences here and they have given me the courage to start the process. If everything goes through and I return I will be able to start my adjustment of status next February.

At the airport about to take off
Hey guys, im at the airport as i type. I will be back on June 25 thru Houston, TX. I overstayed my visa for one year and have a misdemeanor on my record. I've read from prople having more than one and made it back with no issues.
I am going back after 9 years and i feel like i now have a chance. I will jeep you guys updated.

advanced parole
Hello everyone,
I have posted a couple of times before but unfortunately the previous posts weren't very good. Quick update on what has happeneed the last couple months.
On April 11th 2017- I went to a walk in appointment to request for advance parole to visit my sick brother in Mexico. That day I was told my reason was not considered an emergency and they told me to mail in my documents. That same day I went to my atterneys office and she was surprised that I had not beeen approved right there and then but she told me she would expedite my documents. She assured me that I should have the approval in just about a month.
April 17tj 2017- Status changed to document has been received (I don't know why it took so long for them to receive, my atterneyn assured me she had expedites the docs.)
I checked vigorously at least once a day and nothing changes until today
June 9th 2017- document was mailed to me
!!!!!!! Does this mean I have been approved??? I have been worried wondering they might be requesting more proof. When more proof is requested does it also say that a document has been sent when more proof is requested. I would hate to get my hopes up and then be disappointed...

Hello! I was wondering when someone comes on a different passport to US as a child, and works on adjusting the status and applies for advance parole, how would that work if coming back to US from Canada or something, will it effect the return? Thank you!!!

I've been trying to find an app that'll allow us to get each other's updates instantly (kinda like a group text) without sharing our phone numbers or email (for privacy purposes. Imagine how great that would be. Let's all try to figure out something that can help us all stay connected with each other instantly. I was on the same shoe as most of the people here are. Was in a lot of confusion of should I travel with the AP or no. I came here back in 2007 and made my first trip out of US from 25th April- 6 June. Vacation was awesome went to my home county nepal stayed about 40 days. When back nothing was asked at the immigration. Traveling under AP will take you to secondary inspection all they ask you is how long was the stay and where did you go . If you have a clean background and all the valid papers do not have double thoughts to travel. JUST GO ENJOY! Im making a trip again in October for a month.
