hello all. this forum has helped me tremendously through this very agonizing, slow, and annoying process so I will share my experience so far. I filed with a divorce waiver.

may 2019: application to remove conditions received at vermont sc
june 2019: bio appt/ received 18 month extention
april 2020: rfe for insufficient financial evidence (very annoying)

heres the evidence i initially sent

most recent lease with both of our names
taxes for 2016, 2017, 2018
18 months of joint bank account statements
royal carribbean confirmation for a cruise we were supposed to take together
pictures
beneficiery proof from my work life insurance showing him as my beneficiery
joint car insurance for 3 years
joint cell phone bills for 3 years
cards received by us for christmas, birthdays and other holidays from his mom and other family

with the rfe i sent
older lease
copy of our drivers license from when we lived together showing the same address
gas bills under his name for our first house
automatic payment confirmation emails for electric company under both of our names
wifi company email confirmation of service start up under my name
2 months of bank statements with highlighted transactions from both of us (his school loan payment, our electric bill, rent check cashed, both our gym memberships, etc)
2 affidavits
trip confirmations for 3 past trips we took together
pictures of cashed rent checks printed from our bank account (checks have both names and our joint address)

I feel like they did not really look through the bank statements because otherwise they would have seen all the transactions and different types of usage of the account. a lot of the evidence i had also submitted when we sent the i485 petition so i really dont know what's going on. Hopefully all the other stuff i sent with the rfe is enough. this process has given me enough anxiety especially having to do with with a divorce waiver. but the good news is at least they are working on my case. if anyone who filed in early may hasnt heard news from vermont yet you probably will soon!

STOP GREEN CARD. Latest news

President Trump could sign an executive order temporarily banning the issue of new green cards and work visas in the next few days, The New York Times reports. Late Monday, Trump made a shock announcement that he intended to close the United States to people trying to legally immigrate into America to live and work, effectively sealing off the nation from the rest of the world. The Times reports that the order will likely come this week and will contain some exemptions in industries that are considered to be critical. The newspaper also said the Department of Homeland Security was mulling a separate move to expand travel restrictions that already prohibit travelers from Europe and China, which would further shrink the number of people able to come to the U.S. even for short visits. Trump’s motivation is reportedly so he can be seen to be protecting American workers from foreign competition when the economy reopens after the worst of the coronavirus pandemic, particularly as he faces a tough re-election fight.

Just a question
Does all the CR1 will have an in person interview? I sent my application for removal of condition on August 2019 and my case went straight to NBC in Lee summit mo. I'm cr1 and wondering what's my chance of not having an interview. We do have a kid together. Please reply if you did not have an interview and your case went to nbc.

I really need some advice. I got my conditional green card last year and will be removing my conditions next year. When I went for my interview, officer never asked any questions because I was pregnant about 8 months. He approved me on spot. I have a huge problem, my husband is not the father of my child. How is this going to affect me when I remove conditions? I have a pending paternity action right in court with the biological father. Paternity actions are confidential and sealed. Will they be able to see the paternity action? How will this affect my case? Should I tell them my husband isn't the father? or should I just not say anything? Any one ever experienced this?

I751 Transfer Cali to Nebraska
Hi there,

I came to the US on a 2 year valid Greencard, which expired in 08/18

Here is my timeline:

05/ 18 Applied for I751
06/ 18 Receipt date I751 (Service Center California)
03/ 19 Biometrics done
05/ 19 Transfer Notice to Service Center Nebraska
07/ 19 Receipt of additional evidence

I read through most of the cases and see that there seems to be movement in cases submitted well after my case was submitted. I read on their website, that the current processing time in Nebraska is 14.5 - 26 months and if your case was submitted before March 18 you can submit a request for "outside of normal processing time"

I also read that the transfer is standard and won't affect the processing time. Given by that and in worst case scenario it really takes 26 months, with original receipt date 06/18, I would still have to wait till August 2020 which is 4 months.

Did anyone else make this experience that it takes more than 22 months? I usually read about times of 14- 18 months. When I check on their website it only says we received your case and there isn't anything I need to do at this time. This is the statement I see since they received my additional evidence.

Another thing I was wondering about is once I receive my Greencard, will the "valid from" date be the 1st day after my first card expired? I got a 18 months extension which is also expired meanwhile. It was valid until Feb 2020. Now if my new Greencard comes in I hope the valid date won't be dated back to the original expiration date in 2018. That would take away 2 full years of the cards value.

How do you check the status of your case via talking to USCIS representative? I mean what options do you choose when calling?

I 751 and N500
3/25/2019 - case received at TX CS
11/1/2019 - fingerprints taken
2/27/2020 - case was transferred to a different office (never receive notice in the mail, still waiting and today is 4/17/2010)
2/26/2020 - N400 received
2/29/2020 - bios scheduled for n400( never did bios, since they scheduled Mine for 3/20/2020 but USCIS shut down the offices due to Covid-19 on 3/18)
No updates what so ever. I don’t understand why it needs to take so long. So annoying, and my 18 months extension is expiring soon and I can’t even go in for the allotment. I don’t know what to do at this point! Anyone has similar timeline ???
