Working in a different city
Hello,

I wanted to ask a question about working in a different town. My husband and I have been long distance while applying for the green card. In our first interview we have been honest with the agent and told him that we were living desperately because of our job contracts and would eventually reunite, which we did after the green card was granted.

I have moved where my husband was and it has been almost a year now. I have yet to find a secure job. (I sub and work at a restaurant) Even when we were doing long distance I could not find a job related to my field in this town. I had a great position where I was at but my husband did not want to move.
I am starting to be tired of rejection and this city overall that is full of hipsters and seriously lacks diversity. I was recently offered a job in NYC but I don't know if my husband will want to go because he has a good position here...it has become an issue. I was thinking about accepting the position in NYC but we are waiting on an answer for our I751. We were already separated when we started the whole process and now I am worried it would look bad if I accepted that offer in NYC...Can someone give me any thoughts or advice please? Thank you!

Address issue
Hey guys, I have a simple question: can I use a P.O Box as my mailing address and can they send a green card to the P.O. Box address or does it have to be a home l address??

I-751 California Center
What is everyone's experience with California Center and Status on the USCIS website??.

I have no status update since submitting my application in Jan 2019. I went in for bio metrics in April 2019. My profile does not show that. I been reading that California Center has the longest waiting time. Its been 13 months. I have no idea if its been sent to another center or what? Just want some light and hopefully it encourages me to be patient. Thanks in advance.

California Service Center I-751
Hello:

I thought I would share my time line with CA service as I hardly see any encouraging info with that center and it seems like it is infamous for long queue.

3/21/2019 - Received

4/1/2019 - Extension Letter Received

5/9/2019 - Fingerprint done

12/13/2019 - Updated to showed that it was applied to my case

3/4/2020 - New card produced

Documents that I sent were

- Last 3 years tax return
- Family pictures
- Life insurances
- Car registration with both names on it
- Car insurance
- Phone bills for the past 3 years
- Bank statement for the past 3 years
- Letters from both parents
- Rental leases for the past 3 years and some other documents like marriage certificate, DLs etc

Hope this helps for some who are wondering about their cases with CA center. I was very much worried myself as I saw people who sent their documents back in 2018 AUG were still waiting.

Good luck!

Traveling on I751
Hello everyone,

Just wanted to share my experience on traveling while waiting for I751 to be approved. This was last week and I was out of the country for 2 weeks, traveled in Europe and Africa.
Of course got out of the country with no problem.
When I got back into the country the borders officer asked me the usual questions on where was I coming from, for how long blablabla...

I showed my expired green card, the extension form and my passport, he took my fingerprints...the usual. Then he said because your GC is expired we have to verify your status, so I was brought to an office where other people were waiting. They made me wait 5 minutes then the agent called me, gave me back my passport and I left. So no issues at all just an extra verification step.

Hope this helps.
