I751 Approved || Potomac Service Center || 23 Months
Hi All,

My turn to share the I751 Journey. It's been a long one but I've been able to stay calm and patient.

Date filed: August 12, 2019
Service Center: Potomac Service Center
Notice of Action Received ( 18 Months Extension ) : November 2019
Bio-metrics : January 2020

Silence then after until I received an RFE on April 2021.

We had documented most of our things but as a very young couple we didn't have many documents to show.

Documents sent in original package:, Tax returns transcript, Car lease document, Pictures, Copy of drivers license, Old letters. That was it pretty much.

I believe we got an RFE as we didn't provide enough evidence of Financial co-mingling and had moved around a lot due to jobs. Luckily we are doing better now and had some proof we could sent.

Documents Included in RFE: Pictures of our recent travel to my home country, Joint Bank Account Statements ( 5 random statements ), New Apartment lease with both our names in it, Proof of payments through our joint bank account for our Cars, Utilities and such, Credit card with both our names in it, A letter explaining our situation.

After submitting the RFE, They updated the case status to RFE Received on June 1, 2021.

I never wanted to stress about this process and I've been visiting this forum regularly since my journey started. I seldom checked for updates (maybe once a month or so), and wanted to handle it on how the situation unfolds. I wasn't worried when we received an RFE since I had actually been expecting it and was prepared. We were interviewed before at Field Office for i485.

This morning while scrolling through my phone I wanted to check the update and there it was ; Your case has been approved (July 1, 2021).

It's been a long journey, but in the end, it's ended well.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I751 Case finally **** approved after 20 months- CA center San Francisco
***Attention: long **** message below***

Hello everyone, it is finally my turn to write the relief message that we all desire. Thank you Allah!!!
After 20 long months the message I was longing for FINALLY appeared after I gave up on constantly checking my status and also this forum, because it became stressful and above all very annoying to witness the unfairness of cases wrapped in 6 months while we were waiting for almost 2 years now with 0 news since October 2020.

So I had decided to stop checking my status everyday and leave this website alone for a while, even though this website has been so helpful and gave me a sense of community through this journey so I am still very thankful for it.

Five days ago out of nowhere, I received a notification from Lawfully App (which I wasn't checking anymore either) and since I never got a notification from this app before, I knew it meant that a movement happened until I clicked and what a movement it was! (By the way for those having this app their predictions are total BS).

Anyways, here is my timeline:

Center: California - San Francisco

-November 2019 case received, NOA 18months extension received a week later
-July 2020 biometrics applied to my case, old biometrics used.
[October 1st 2020 applied to N400]
-2 days after applying to N400, I751 transferred to NBC.
-March 2021 info pass to get a stamp on my passport (2 months before GC expired)
-June 2021 NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED

Total wait=19.8 months (yes I put a countdown lol)

Copies of documents provided:

-Explanation letter telling why we lived separately until Sept 2019.
-Mariage certificate
-Both ID cards (US and Foreign)
-Both passports pages
-Bank accounts of the last 5 months
-10 affidavits of support (not notorized)
-Job contracts of different states
-Job contracts of jobs in CA state
-2 years of taxe returns (both filled under "married filed separately since we were in different states)
-Plane tickets of trips between East and West Coast .
-Plane tickets of trips together
-Car insurance with both names on it
-Health insurance cards with both names on it
-Car title with both names on it
-Life Insurance with both names on it
-Credit cards with both names on it.
-Many pictures from 2008 to 2019 (we met in the US in college)

That is all I can remember, hell it was 20months ago haha...

We neatly put everything in a big binder, even did an index showing the organization of the binder with page numbers, so the agent could easily go through it...As you can see this did not help our case to be treated faster -_- ....but still.

No lawyer, no RFE, no interview and no notifications either from USCIS when status changed, even though I signed up for both email and text. As I previously mentioned I got a notification from Lawfully app first and then went on USCIS website to check and indeed the status had changed on there.

I also want to mention that my husband and I got married in 2017 and started to live together only in September 2019 as we had jobs in different states.
I have also traveled with my I751 on many occasions and even got stuck 5 months overseas after Covid hit while my case was pending.

The wait for the 10 years GC is FINALLY over.I wish best of luck to those who have been waiting forever like we did.
I know it is a stressfull and annoying wait and weight! But the only advice I can give is to just let it happen and try to stop constantly checking your status and just live your everyday life normally and try to totally forget about it. This is what I tried to do these last few months and it was less stressful to do so.

I will NOT tell you the traditional "Be patient and your turn will arrive" like I often saw on here (and I know it was meant in a good way) but patient is what you DO NOT want to be anymore after your case has been pending with no news for over a year. So again all I will say is forget about it live your life and pray to God and keep praying even after your case is settled

Onto N400 wait now...but I will do the same forget about it and act like it doesn't exist until I get a notification.

Please feel free to ask me questions if you need, as many of you answered mine on so many occasions on this great forum. It gave me information and hope so I hope I can do the same for some. Cheers y'all!
