Green Card Process/Interviews
Hi
I just had my best news ever before my 40 birthday I got the news about my approval, my experiences it was tougth having 2 interviews but I always believed tht everything gonna be ok once the marriage is real , I also want to make a comment that Has nothing that me and my husband could complain about the Officer that interviwed us she was nice and polite and calm ...I wouldnt believe in those who says they treat you bad, but if you dont have nothing to hide they will treat you nice, is their job been tougth but gets scared who does wrong or tell them lies... I just have to congrat. the Officer who interviwed us Thank God my all process took 3 months God Bless us and America !!!

Interpreter Required During the Green Card Interview
I applied family-based green cards for my parents within the U.S. after they entered the U.S. as visitors so I submitted both the I-130 and I-485 applications simultaneously. They had their fingerprint appointments done and then got scheduled for a face-to-face interview at USCIS' Philadelphia field office. My parents and I went as scheduled and to our surprise, I was told I, as the son, am not allowed to translate for their interviews and a third-party translate is required. On the verge of being rescheduled for another interview at least 30 days out in the future, the INS officer relented and agreed to see us again the same day in the afternoon. We went out and hired a translator from an immigration law office and did the interviews smoothly in the afternoon. Thank God!

Two points:
1) Hire a translator for the green card interview if your family member doesn't speak English (you, as a family, are not allowed to translate)
2) If for whatever reason, you need to be rescheduled, ask for a same-day appointment if you think you can be ready on the same day.

Good Luck

permanent residency question
i was recently approved for my permanent residency card in march 2011. i was able to get approved though a family based visa. i was told i would receive my actual permanent residency card in september of 2011. i got married at the end of march to a us citizen. my lawyer told me that my residency card would be invalid beacuse i got married and that i had to re apply. i guess i wasnt supposed to get married until after i got my card but i wasnt aware of that IMPORTANT fact. does anyone know if this is true? do i have to re apply even though i was approved9 but still havent received the card) if anyone has any info or could shed some light on this matter please let me know
thank you

And on Friday May, 13th I got 3 letters from USCIS all of them receipts and the one with my I485, and I765 I have my A#. And on Saturday May 14th I got my letter to go ahead and take my Biometrics/fingerprint on May 31st. Which I cannot wait to go ahead and take. I was told by my Aunt that I can get my ID and Drivers License with these so I am going to make an appointment and find out until then. I also want to mention that I did everything on my own, me and my husband no Immigration Lawyer of Attorney...so it cost us nothing except the $1490.00 + $5.85.

Lack of Birth certificate
I am planning to apply Green card for my parents. They do not have their birth certificate. They have their school records as secondary evidence. I did read that they will need to obtain certified statement from the government why there is no birth certificate. My parents will be not be able to obtain this due to personal reasons. What should I do?. Is the secondary evidence enough? Do I need the affidavits from relatives along with the secondary evidence?

I need to petition against this but I don't know how. Can somebody pls help
I don't know for how long more before this visa number becomes available. So does it mean i'n banned from the US till that time?
