              • Ires Are you sure that makes a difference? I thought cases are processed randomly. Hoping you hear good news soon!!! One thing- I changed my address mid-August and sent a notification to USCIS and received their confirmation. Wondering if that might move the process in any way.

                • hope&patience I don’t know but I think so! The address change thing could have helped also! I feel like a lot of people expediting EAD and such get their cases processed faster. It’s like they dig it out of a pile and say ok, let’s get this case over with since we dug it out

                  • Ires address change does not affect processing, overstaying a visa sometimes causes problem but since you are IR1 and not F2A it wont affect anything.
only thing they dont like is when you file if you were not in status but then again i never heard any IR1 got into trouble for that reason.

The attorney i am working with told me how the things are being processed, she has done over 500 cases and know some of the USCIS Chicago officials personally.

                    1. initally when NBC receive documents they will check all the forms for signatures and fees, if they dont have it its going to be sent back.
                    2. then they sent the bio notice via the field office and does the FBI database check. if they have you there you are in trouble.
                    3. next once Bio is okay they open your documents and check everything and if you are missing anything they will issue RFE or RFIE (still dont get how they determine which is RFIE and which is RFE)
                    4. once they have all the documents then they complete review and if all clear then they send that to Field office.
                    5. Field office will schedule cases based on their loads.
                    6. NBC will send the okay to their I765 section to get your EAD printed. this can be expedited only after stage 3 is complete. if not no matter whoever you reach out you wont get EAD approved. these days it is taking time.
                    7. if field office finish interview before EAD is printed then you get GC instead.

sometimes they pick random person to get additional background checks performed and then sometimes they get lazy and dont update status online which drives you and me crazy

keep calm, we all will get through this.

Stormlead86 Thank you so much for this list. I think I might be stuck on step 2, since I didn't get the bio-review-completed status yet. Also, since my field office is San Francisco, I may not get any interview date for one year or so.

Hope they process the EAD and AP soon. Do you know if there is any way to expedite AP if I need to travel out of US for Christmas?
