Hope they process the EAD and AP soon. Do you know if there is any way to expedite AP if I need to travel out of US for Christmas?
San Francisco and New York are the most crowded offices and lead time is almost 11 months in those. i was in position to file in either of those offices but my job changes led me to Chicago office where its around 7 month. hope&patience is the fastest with 2.5 months so far as per my knowledge. again per my understanding of the process we should be getting EAD around end of November/ Early December.

About Expedite you can try doing it thorough the 1 800 line with 1 1 2 2 button press, they will register an expedite request and you have to fax/mail the evidence to them. Also you can try the congressman/Senator office and they will do the same for you once you give them the documents. the trick here is to get the documentation to prove you really need the 765.

      Keep calm and Carry on.

        • Well I got excited because my tracking app sent me an update notification..turns out to be Request for Initial Evidence was sent by mail. Big bummer, I really hope it doesn’t affect EAD / AP timeline.
I guess the piece of news that’s more on the positive side is that they are looking into cases received in July

          • Antoine99 there you have it man, love letter incoming,

If its RFIE then you must have missed some important documents like latest tax return or birth certificate long form/translation maybe. did you use a lawyer or you filed on your own?

Whether this will block the 765/131 processing is a bit of a disputed argument among community, some say it stops all processing, some say RFIE stops processing RFE doesn't and some say it doesn't impact. i got lucky that i didn't got RFE/RFIE but ill bother my lawyer and get her two cents on the matter.

Nonetheless, respond as soon as you can and followup if needed to check they receive it or not.

            • Stormlead86 I filed on my own but got it reviewed by a friend who is an experienced immigration lawyer.
I guess there is no point in panicking before seeing what they ask for, but dang it’s a bummer to receive the news

I plan on getting it done again once i get any update about my interview being scheduled and take it along with other documents to my interview instead of mailing them as the noticed mentioned.

Feedback from my lawyer when I told him I was gonna receive RFE: “USCIS is issuing RFEs right and left. I'm not concerned, and, no, it won't affect the timing otherwise.”

Unfortunately I don't have an evidence document to show to expedite Combo card, even though I want to. Guess I will wait for them to process it then. Good to know about the 11 months timeline for SF.

If its Courtesy letter then you can wait till you get scheduled. when i was doing my 693 my lawyer said if the PD gets over 60 days beyond the Physicians sign date then they wont accept it. but i just did and send everything anyway.

Add your timeline in your signature, much easier to track for everyone.

Go to user setting by clicking on your username at the top right. In user settings go to account. Scroll down to “conversation detail options” and you will see “edit post signature”.
