That’s a mistake!!!your husband have to call USCIS and fix it or he will have issues when he wants to get his citizenship

          • Hi everyone so I had my interview last week 12/22. Everything went great they didn’t ask us any questions except our address and said we’ll get the card in a months time. I’ve been checking the status nothing has been updated and I can’t reach anyone’s because the automated system has changed. Not sure if anyone has had that issue I’m excited and nervous because I don’t see it anything updated.

            • We had our interview on 10/15 in Denver. It seemed to went smooth and the officer said he would approve the relationship portion, but needs to check my husband’s prior case the following date. A few days later, we got an approval of I-130.
It was the time when USCIS seemed to had a glitch in the system and there were no news for a couple of weeks online. As of 10/29, I-485 was updated with “Interview was completed and my case must be reviews. As of 10/30, online status was updated that I-130 was approved.
It’s 1/1 and our status still states it needs to be reviewed and “We will assign your case to an officer. If an interview is required, we will notify you.”

I’m curious what’s the average time wait to get a final notice with a decision on I-485?

                  • Hi all - Houston TX based here, PD October 2, 2019

We have been ready to schedule interview since December 12, 2019. Some friends we know are also Houston field office, similar case facts etc. and were ready to schedule December 6, 2019 but got scheduled in November 2020 and had their interview at end of December - all approved.

Seems odd that we still haven't had interview scheduled yet considering our timeline is similar and we were both RTS around the same time, only 6 days apart - is there a strict order for scheduling interviews?

USCIS has no order for anything. None. Zero. Sorry to say that but its true. But don't fret, they will likely get to yours soon.

                          • Hey guys, just had our interview this morning and want to share our experience. Before that I want to say thank you to this community for sharing your experience as it has been very helpful guiding us through the process.

We had the first slot of the day at 8am. The IO was friendly and as nervous as we were I think the IO made us feel more comfortable and at ease. He asked for few documents and few questions. Overall, we definitely over prepared in terms of the documents that we brought, but nonetheless it went very well.

The interview lasted about 15-20 minutes. The IO gave us the white paper slip with first option checked (case held for review?), BUT gave a verbal confirmation that he had nothing to worry about us. He expected that we would get the conditional GC within a week or so.

Sure enough, less than an hour after we left, we received email notification that the case status had been changed to card in production.

My husband got the 10yr card when he should have gotten the 2yr conditional. At first I was overjoyed thinking "game over". But from my research, now it looks like that was just a USCIS admin error that cause problems for us later on. It also seems that we'll still need to complete the I-751 process in 2yrs. Smh!
