September 2020 Filers!

I recieved 2 of my i-797's today - one for the i-130 and one for the i-765 but not yet for the i-485 or i-131

I received all four I-797s today with MSC receipt number, I have never seen MSC before, any insight on this? Took 25 days from the day they received the forms for the case to be accepted.

MSC is the national benefit center, most the marriage AOS cases go there. they do all the heavy lifting work and process your combo card, and then send the applications to the local offices for interviews.

I called Chase and they told me the checks were cleared this morning, we sent cashier's checks, I assume they verified the certified funds checks were valid and processed our applications. We got all four receipt numbers via text last night around 9:30 pm, about 7 -10 minutes apart each text. Don't lose hope, I know other people that filed after we did got their receipts way before we did. Our application was about 500 pages long, mostly bonafide stuff and certified translations. It depends also how you sent it, we sent ours via USPS and found out afterwards that USPS takes longer than if you send via Fedex or UPS. We paid USPS for overnight, we live in Chicago and sent to Chicago Lockbox so it got there actually in less than a day.

Hi, I am in the same position as you. I sent mine to Chicago lockbox and haven't received anything yet. Here's hoping we all get a response soon.

Yes, ours was received a day before yours, it seems they are taking a couple of days to process applicacions received per day. I am confused though because my case online says it was submitted on 10/21/2020, but I didn’t get the text until 10/25/2020. Due to the fee increase a lot of people sent in theirs before the fee increase so they may have a lot to get through. Example, people whose case were received a day before mine got their texts last week, maybe you’ll get yours this week.

Also their website is very faulty right now, I got my receipts as well, literally a day after I got the texts. So I am wondering if they have a backlog on outgoing notifications.

Folks,

I think the USCIS notifications system is backlogged or down.I got my texts on Sunday 10/25, and the receipts were in my mailbox 10/26 dated 10/21. They did not cash the certified funds cashiers check until 10/26. I am not sure what USCIS is doing, but just wanted to give a heads up for those still waiting.

Timeline:
09/29/2020 - Overnight AOS via USPS
09/30/2020 - Received and Signed by L.Box
10/25/2020 - Received All 4 texts I-797
10/26/2020 - Received all 4 paper receipts in the mail with submission date of 10/21/2020
10/26/2020 - Checks cashed

I sent everything except the medical examination as the lawyer we consulted asked us not to, due to covid delays those medical examination are often discarded if the case takes too long and then you will have to get another one to bring to an interview. We did not use an attorney to file, but we consulted one (1hr session)

I received my texts yesterday - but when I attempt to retrieve the case status online I get the following error:

Not sure what this means...

It seems to be happening to quite a few people, ours says the same, but I called USCIS and they told me their system is faulty and to try to use the DHS system, which I did but also the same. Case is in the system and that’s all that matters of course if I don’t get any updates online and continue to get the error in a couple of weeks I will call again.
