    • Has anybody has experiences with expedited AP I-131? We requested an expedite for advance parole in October our original PD is 09/30/20, the request for expedite was approved on 11/18. We called USCIS after a week of not hearing back since the expedite was approved and they told us that we needed an infopass appointment but because the applicant hasn’t done biometric yet, we had to wait for biometrics, it has been 58 days since PD and no biometrics yet.

We were told to call back Monday if biometrics hasn’t been scheduled yet by Monday, so will call tomorrow.

Now, the officer on the phone stated we need to bring a completed I-131 to our appointment as well as the fee for I-131

Is that true? Since we already paid fees when we sent in the package two months ago?

We requested emergency AP due to death in the family abroad and sickness of a mother due to death of dad.

You need to pay the fee. You're submitting a new I-131 application. You need to be fingerprinted first so that your field office can accept and process your application.

I believe the emergency AP does cost extra fee because they are issuing a new I-131 for the emergency purposes. Your original I-131 will still get processed and get another I-131 later.

          • Update:

            Biometrics email received on 11/30
            Biometrics appointment date 12/2/2020

but our case qualified for expedite so perhaps our might be a different experience with the biometrics due to emergency travel situation.

                • nothing here either. I already did biometrics at an embassey in march for my other work visa so you would think they would just process my work permit already. My current work eligibility expired today so im just twiddling my thumbs ..... like there hasnt been enough of that this year already :/

                  • My case keeps me up and I cannot sleep.
my receipt date is Sept 12 and I was able to expedite my EAD processing because I work with Covid-19. However I have heard nothing so far from USCIS so I reached out last week. I was told that they have my biometrics on file. That I had appeared at an ASC on November 19 to give my biometrics.
I didn’t because I got no appointment. The only biometrics I’ve done so far is for Canadian express entry on September 29!
Uscis tier 2 officer called me because I really insisted I gave no biometrics and told me that I actually have one on file but couldn’t tell me how it came to be.
Still there is no update to my case status since the 19th they said I gave my fingerprints.
I can’t sleep wondering if they have the right biometrics. The anxiety and all is doing me in.

Sept 11: Mailed i140/i485/i131/i765 to Texas lockbox
                    Sept 12: Received by USCIS
October 10: 4 NOAs in mail (ATL home)
Nov 2: EAD Expedite request approved
Nov 19: Biometrics was supposedly given and applied
Dec 1: Tier 2 officer called to confirm biometrics applied.
                    no case status change!

Did you not get your NOAs? Your NOA for work authorisation serves as a 180 day extension. If you read the entire thing, it tells you.

Yes, so because our case was expedited, the officer advised us to not go into the field office and wait until this coming Monday as we should have an approved AP by then. We were supposed to fly this Saturday but will now push the flight a few days while hopefully we get the approval letter.

It does serve as an extention if you had a i-765 in the first place. I had an o1b visa and it dosent extend that. An i-765 wasnt part of the o1b application. Ill be getting an i-765 for the first time. It isnt a renewal.

                            • Hi! Is there anyone for whom it took longer than 6 weeks to get notice of receipt for I-485? If it was so, did you wait longer or contacted USCIS? How to contact USCIS without a receipt number as for me that said they cannot help without a receipt number.

Contact your processing center via email ( wherever you sent it-likely Chicago) and give them your USPS/UPS/FEDEX tracking number and they will probably give you an answer in 30 days. By the way, did they cash your checks or money order?
