1. yes, no more than 1 year but is better to limit to less than 180 days a year (what I would do). Or get a re-entry permit and stay up to 2 years (that will affect when you can apply for citizenship)
2. keep your address changes reported to USCIS until you get citizenship. You can apply for citizenship with the 5-year rule. Don't break the law or travel abroad for very long times.
3. if your spouse received GC then yes, you will need to visit SS office (if they are open) or send the GC by mail to them (if they still don't have in-person appointments)

Based on our experience, the status doesn't change or reflect RFE submission. In about 2 weeks after they received the RFE, response ,the i485 status changed to new card produced.

I think somebody mentioned in this forum that, AP status will change after few days of EAD approval and shall receive combo card.
Still wondering why son's status has not changed when ours is changed. May be within 2-3 days

Priority Date is Dec 12, 2013.
FP/Bio was done in early June, 2021.

On this forum, I find some with same I-765 application date (End Oct, 2020) and with much later priority date in early and mid 2014 still got EAD.

Tried to expedite EAD but denied without asking any details the next day.
No EAD/AP combo card yet. Any body in same scenario.

I am in same situation. Application went to Texas service center on 23rd Oct. My priority date is March, 2012.
Bio done on 3rd June, 21
I expedite my 140 for EB3 downgrade. Got approval in Early July.

No update on EAD/AOS. I think it is waiting game now.

Sometimes they order the card (because they approved the I-485) but then they don't update the I-485 case to say approved. Sometimes they do it a few days later. In rare cases, they update the status to approved but they never order the card or there is a delay of several days/weeks.

The important status change for us is "We ordered your new card", at that point we know they approved the I-485 and we are going to get the card soon.

My opinion

Order the card happened in my case when FO received the medicals and file is complete , Approving I 485 happened the next day when they posted the approval notice.
