  • Hi everybody,

    I just received a letter from USCIS requesting more evidence about our good faith marriage. We have been married for 3,5 years now, live together but decided to have a separate economy (we both have individual accounts with Bank of America) and have a common credit card, that I use more than my husband. We are subleasing so we venmo our "landlord" the rent payment. what evidence would you suggest we provide in order to show that our marriage was entered in good faith?

    We already submitted:
    1. Pictures from the beginning to just before submitting the form;
    2. Travel tickets - we traveled to Sweden last year together and a bunch of other places;
    3. Tax returns;
    4. Joint checking account (that we decided not to use anymore since it didnt work for us and we used the credit card to pay for common expenses)
    5. Wedding invitations addressed to us both;
    6. Affidavits from friends and neighbors.

    Any advice on what else we can submit will be helpful.

    Thank you so much!

    • Joint insurance, car or renters insurance, joint utility bills, joint cell phone plan would be an option. Car registration on both names.
      we don't have joint utility bills on both names, cause those were all already ÷xisting plans,but our joint bank statements show that we share responsibility to pay for those. Is your VENMO on both your names? That might be good evidence, too.

            What USCIS is looking for is documentation that shows you have co-mingled all your household finances. Since you each have your own separate banking account, you will need to provide proof that EACH of you are paying your share of overall household expenses from your own account. For example, you may pay for electric and gas bills. Your husband may pay for water and waste management fees, etc. It is totally OK to have separate bank accounts but you have more work to do now...must provide proof that you are both paying toward your household expenses.

            Make sure your taxes are filed as "married filing jointly". Also since you have an RFE, you have an opportunity to send them "everything". Go back and provide statements that you know they do not have. Recent credit card and bank statements are important. If you received a refund or paid federal/state taxes, show which account it came from and which account it went to, etc. Highlight it for them on your bank statements.

            Good luck

                  Congratulations!

                  May I know did you received a mail notice on 6/10/2022 for the Card/Document Production? What did it say and does this mail need a signature? I had similar process and got a fingerprint received notice early Nov 2021. Then when I checked in 4.2022, it shows I have a notice not delivered and return to USCIS. (I was traveling at that time, I am not sure if anything at home that day), but I never received USPS email delivery notice either.

                    Hi there. We received a notification (via email) to check our status online. Once we checked the status, it said "Your Case Status: Card/Document Production; on June 10, 2022, we ordered your new card for Receipt number WACXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us). Today the status says "New Card is being Produced". We have not received anything in the regular mail yet. I think we will receive a notice of approval and the 10 year card soon. Hope this helps.

                        In order to get notification, create "my USCIS Case Status account", then add your receipt number where it says "add case". You have a choice of email and/or text notification. Here is the link:

                          Thanks. I have registered on this website, but didn't see a place to get email/text notifications. I have my email/text information under my account. However I never received any notifications.

                              • Any updates? It looks like the wait time is up to 15 months now. So I guess we won’t get our cards till December. I’ll apply for citizenship this September.
