I reach my 6 year limit in nov 8th 09....would you recommend the one year out of the country option? is it better to wait here? is it possible to apply for an extension even if in November it will not be 365 days of pending PERM application? im in New Yortk

Dec 08 Process is going on from AUG 09

I heard from my lawyer that until last year they had two processing centers (Chicago and Atlanta). Recently the Chicago processing center has been closed for some reason. Looks like that is the cause of all these delays. Not sure if this is true. But this is what I heard from my company's lawyer. I heard the usual time frame for perm is 3 - 12 months. Is this true?

Although i have not received an answer, it is my daily prayer and I am full of hope.
Friends who filled in Oct-08 have received their approvals in the last 2-3 months.
My lawyer also confirmed they have received approval for processes filed up through Nov-08
I can feel it really close and I hope this note gives all of you hope.
May God's will be done! Stay hopeful.. GM
You have a very similar situation to mine. Any answer yet?

    PERM Processing

I believe DOL is still stuck up with the 2008 PERM cases. My foresight says, be end of this year (i.e., sept 30th, 2009) they will focus on the new applications, which should not take long as the number of PERM cases filed in 09 are significantly fewer compared to 08.

No end in sight for audited applications

The law firm representing my company submitted my PERM app in July 2008. After 8 months, DOL audited my application and asked for some routine documents. It has been over 4 months since the requested audit docs have been furnished. For the last 3 months, i have been receiving monthly updates that DOL is still working on audited Oct 2007 applications. My lawyer has no clue as to when my application will be certified.
Good luck to all of us....

    perm question

My friend has submitted the application July 09 and her lawyer told her that she was advanced to the third step in the process of PERM after passing steps of prevailing wage and recruitment, since her employer has already dealt with 45 days notice (from the department to employer for making sure if an applicant continues to proceed the application). I am confused - are there three steps in PERM, which are steps of prevailing wage, recruitment, and online application, or another three steps in the online application after prevailing wage and recruitment? I had these info from my friend, but may be misunderstanding something? If you could correct my confusion with even a brief message, I will be greatly appreciated. Also, someone could tell me about the 45 days notice, what the concept exactly mean and it happens to every applicant? Thank you for your time in advance.

    PERM process for California Employees

Guys my Employer recently filed PERM on August o4. I'm based in California and want to know that which processing center will handle California employees cases.

Also, I need a further clarification, I'm currently in the end of 5 years of my H1-Visa, though my employer filed on 08-04-09, I have a feeling that I would not continue at the same place because of the current economic situation. Is it true that we need to have our PERM filed within 365 days of Visa or this clause applies for 7th year extension.
