      Sure.

Looks no one attended at San Jose center from Bay Area which has most immigrants. Did not receive any responses so far. !!!!!

          San Jose CA Interview experience

Today my interveiw at San Jose office was pretty smooth started at 12:40 and ended 1:05.

Officer was pretty cool...looks all officers like that.

We were in the line around 12:10, they let us in around 12:25 Cell phones are allowed but needs to be turned off (we don't about this).

Went to second floor and placed the letter and waited around 12:40 office called me and took into his office, Office was very cool, gone thro my N400 every page in 10 minutes, meanwhile we had general discussion about my company my role, then office a gave sheet printed paper with my name DOB, nationality,sex..etc....i had correction with nationality, corrected immediately and signed that document.

Then gave sheet of paper and told a small four words sentence to write and i wrote and gave back.

          Then my civic test started:

          1. Who wrote the declaration of Independence.
          2. There were 13 original states, name three
          3. Who is the Commander in Chief of the military
          4. What is the political party of the president now
          5. What are the two major political parties in the united states
          6. Name one state that borders Mexico

Then office congratulated and said you have passed, you will receive oath ceremony letter in one or two months time.

Gave a sheet saying that completed the process and passed.

That it i am done and out by 1:10.

I carried Social security card, W2, Tax Statement, Utility Bills, bank statements, photographs for just in case.

This forum is really great....got lot of info, great help...Thanks to everyone who answered all my questions.

          Thanks

Good information. This will be useful for my interview process too.
I was wondering if san jose office has same day oath ceremonies similar to other USCIS offices?

                helpwithh1,

I don't think SJC office has same day oath ceremonies, i saw most of them yesterday got letters saying that they will receive oath letters in mail...may in 1 or 2 months time period.

Goodluck to you and update your details.

                Thanks

                        My Interview Exp

My appointment was for 8:35. Went in by 8:20.
Was called in around 8:50 and was out by 9:10

It was a straight forward process.

                        1. Took the oath
                        2. The officer verified the paperwork. Since we had a daugther two weeks ago I had to add her name to my file.
                        3. Asked me some questions( I think a random questionnaire of 10 questions is put in each file for the interviewer to ask)
                        4. Did the reading and writing test.
                        5. Had me sign couple of documents and photographs
                        6. Gave me the document that my interview is completed.
                        7. Showed me the door :-)

As a side I asked her if there was a same day oath ceremony and mentioned that my friend had a same day oath ceremony in the same office last year during elections. She said that could have been because of the elections and she also mentioned that unless there is a very compelling reason they do not do same day oath ceremonies.
I said thanks and walked out of her office.
I can prepare my wife's GC application by the time my Oath ceremony is completed.

We got Oath letters...but my self and wife got different timings morning and afternoon on same day.

No clue any possibility of switching to one time for both...appreciate any pointers...if not we have to go two times.
