San Jose CA Interview experience

My Service center is Sa Jose. Got Yellow letter on 5th of Oct, No Interview letter yet.

I called customer service to enquire about the status. The lady mentioned that I am in the q and they will sechdule as an when dates are available.

It was funny when she mentioned "you have send in you application JUST in August". I did not unedrstand the context. was it to say it is just 3 and 1/2 months.

Anyone in San Jose who are waitingg for thier interview letter?

Means its within the prescribed processing time. However, it is likely that her checking on your file will trigger an interview letter. I once had a query and was told I was not reschedule ( i was scheduled then de-scheduled), but got interview letter 3 days later, dated the very day I called. So, your letter may be on the way

Thanks for the response. I am travelling to India Dec-20 th- Jan 17th. I was hoping to get interview done before Dec 20th but now i am not that hopeful. since my interview is not scheduled yet could i call them and tell them in advance to schedule it after jan 17th. Has anyone done this before

I would wait to get the letter, which I think will arrive before Dec 20 anyway. Then you will instructed in the letter how to reschedule, if needed. Do they have same day oath or close to same day oath in San Jose after an interview? You will have to take that into consideration as well. Another thing to consider, you will need a US passport once you are sworn in in order to travel outside the US.

They do not have same day oath at san jose. They send out a letter in the mail

not sure if this applies to you, i called uscis and mentioned i got yellow letter and asked them to check if i was already send interview letter as my postman is messing up lately. It turns out that i was send a interview letter on nov 4th before my yellow letter which was send on 10th Nov. They asked me to take a infopass appt and ask the immigration to reprint the letter. I did that and went there today, my interview date is dec 14th. Info pass appts are sometimes available same day as some people cancel.

Any one who has applied with San Jose as thier field office. can they post thier time line

As I mentioned I got a yellow letter on Oct5th and till date no info on interview data.

I took an infopass appointment and met the immigration officer...They said that its a routine to send yellow letter and it does not mean anything...

I need to wait for 5 ~8 weeks more...

Strange when all are getting interview letter and some even had oath after officer said this is well with in the processing time and nothing to worry. (submitted application Aug 5th)

what is yellow letter and what is mentioned in yellow letter?

The letter is yellow in color . It states, when you attend the interview please bring Drivers Licence....No mention of date
