Thanks for all posts and experiences shared. it helped a lot for me.
Background:
- 2nd Stamping after 2nd H1b extension(1st extension aprpoved and was in USA. Travelled back to India when 2nd extension was in progress. Received approval in May).
- Working in EC model
Bio-metric Appointment : 20th Aug - Done in 10 min and went 1 hour early still they allowed.
PAI: 21st Aug
After 1 hour in long queue, my number came.
VO: No greetings from him since he rejected 2 students visa before me.
Me: Good Morning.
VO: Asked for passport.
Me: Given passport and asked if he need my expired passport or not. It was not required.
VO: Scanned passport and asked about my client name:
Me: Told client name
Vo: Asked for i797 and asked about responsibilities.
Me: Answered in one line.
VO: Finally golden words. Your visa is approved. Again he asked do you have dependent with your application?
Me: My wife is dependent but she is not travelling now.(We both traveled back in India after 2 year stay)
22 Aug: Status Updated to Issues around 3 PM IST
Waiting for passport to check visa validity since I always received 1 year approval except this time.

Salary differ between DS160 and LCA
Hi - I’ve my H1B scheduled by oct 10 th in Chennai consulate.
ive my doubt is that , I’ve entered some salary amount in DS160 and my LCA has some amount and difference is around $20 k . DS160 is higher than LCA.
if the VO is asking about my salary which one I can tell them . How can I give justifications.
please clarify my doubt .

H1B change of status from F1 - Passport retained
I had my interview today in Hyderabad consulate. It's my first interview on H1B after my F1.
VO asked these questions:
1. Who's your end client?
2. How long have you been working with the petitioner?
3. What's your designation?
4. Asked me to show my client letter. VO just looked at it for few seconds and retuned it back. (Didn't take any information from the letter)
5. What's your salary?
6. Where's your employer located?
7. Are you working at your client location?
8. What's your highest educational qualification?
9. Have you been a student in US?
10. Where did you graduate from?
VO retained my passport after, gave a white slip (221g) and said decision would be made in 3-5 days.
Strange thing is VO didn't ask me to show my i-797!
Did anyone experienced such situation?

H1b first time stamping
I am currently on L2 and was in US and got a job offer from local employer. I never worked for the local employer. I am working for MNC in India for last 7 years and i am on leave without pay and in US. The new employer filed my H1b and it got approved. Now i need to travel to India to stamp H1 visa. Below are my question.
1. What should I fill in work experience in DS 160? Should i put only the current employer details or should i put something about new employer?
2. Have anyone done stamping in same scenario?
3. What will be the questions asked as i have not yet worked with this employer.
4. Do i need to resign from my current employer before going for interview?

H1b Administrative processing
Submitted my h1b application for stamping via dropbox in chennai location on Aug 19th. Status currently says administrative processing and I will be contacted if further information is needed.
Can someone provide information on how they will contact us. Is it via email-id or the phone number that we provided ?

H1 and H4 221g yellow slip
Attended H1B visa Interview on 26th July at Mumbai consulate
VO didn’t check any documentation except I797 and marriage certificate and asked couple questions about job, client location, petitioner and then issued 221g yellow slip asking to submit some additional docs mentioned in that slip which are related to petitioner and client. We submitted all the documentation the following day. Our case got updated on Aug 9th but the case is still in Administrative Processing and then again the case got updated on Aug 21st but the case is still in Administrative Processing.
So my question here is, the case got updated twice but still showing Administrative Processing. Just want to know what’s going on with that and is this a good sign?
And also my client lost the patience waiting on me so internal discussions going on that they might end the contract any time soon. So in this situation what if the consulate reach to client after they end my contract.
Please share valuable suggestions and experiences if any of you guys faced the same situation.

Without client letter for stamping at Chennai
I am going for H1 cap petition stamping and client is not willing to provide client letter.
Can you please help in your inputs or your experience without client letter?
If we get email from client stating they wont be providing client letter is that enough? Any format for email would help. Will they accept email copy as exception? Any other supporting document I need to take along with me?

I have upcoming H1B interview at chennai. I have a small question that when VO asking me general questions like (what you do, whats your designation, whats your salary) do i need to answer based on current company (india) or US.
In India and US both are same company.
