H1B approval fraud suspicion - New Look and feel of H1b 1797A approval
Hello Everyone

I did an H1b transfer recently and I have below questions to clarify my doubts over authenticity of the H1b approval I recently recieved.

1.Just wanted to check , Did USCIS change the look and feel of the I 797A(H1B approval)
I got my approval a week back Sep 6-2017 and I see the look and feel of the notice of Action changed when I compare it to my previous i797 (previous approved petition copy) It got me a little suspicious on the authenticity of the approval document.

2.In the approval document I received - H1b approved date and the date on the attached i94 does not match . I got an extended i94 date compared to my H1b approval date. Is this POSSIBLE ?

3.I received the H1b approval notice but the USCIS case status online does not shows me that my case is approved on my receipt number , it still says RECIEVED . Is this possible ?

I am just trying to track if I am not part of a fraud H1b case so will need all of your inputs who has been in the same situation.

Thanks
SG

Cap Gap ends
I really need someone's suggestion on this please..

I got an RFE and as we are not eligible to work after Sep 30th. My employer is asking me to work without a pay, when I said I cannot work he is saying he will fill my position in the mean time. My question is

Can I still get an approval even if my position is filled and if my employer does not withdraw my visa?

If H1 gets approved then I have to have payroll run on my H1, as I said if the position is filled and if there is no payroll running, what are the problems will I face?

If I can find another employer who is ready to transfer my visa, will there be any problem after the approval till the process of transfer? And how soon do we have to start the transfer process?

Thank you so much in advance.

H1B Exp in Mumbai Sep 5th & 6th
Hey Everyone,

I am sharing my Biometric and Interview experience.

Sep 5th: Biometrics.

I had scheduled time of 3:30pm so I reached the center at 3:15pm.
I had to fill another DS160 form after my appointment was confirmed due to some missing data in the old one and my confirmation letter had old DS160 form number/barcode.

At entry I told the same and they asked my to show them the recent/latest DS160 form. They scanned the barcode of the recent DS160 form and let me in. After security checks I was allowed in and at the counter they asked for my passport, DS160 form and the appointment letter. I informed them too that I had 2 DS160 form. The lady at the counter took a printout of a label/sticker which contained the DS160 form number/barcode and Payment information number/Barcode as given in my appointment letter and put the sticker at the back of my passport. Then she replaced the DS160 form number/barcode with my recent DS160 form number/barcode. Which resolved the issue as now the new DS160 form details is updated everywhere.
I was done with the Biometrics in about 10mins and left for the day.

So if you had to fill more than 1 DS160 form then do not worry just inform the same at the counter before your biometrcis are done.

Sep 6th: Visa Interview

I had my visa interview scheduled at 9:30AM. I reached the center at 7:50 AM but they did not allow me to go inside as they said they will allow 9:30AM slots to go inside from 8:30AM.
At around 8:15AM the gaurds outside said that those of have 9:30AM slots to come and stand in a queue outside. I was standing 2nd in the queue of that line. At around 8:30AM they let us in. After the security checks everyone was asked to sit in the waiting area inside.

At around 9:25AM they took us in where the interview of everyone was taking place. They again checked my passport along with finger print verification and was asked to stand in the queue inside.

At around 10:25AM my turn finally came and below are the questions that was asked to me:

ME: Goodmorning Mam.
VO: Passport please along with the I797 form.

I gave the same and waited for a few seconds.

VO: What is your Highest Qualification.
ME: Told the same.

VO: Who is your Client?
ME: Answered the same.

Vo: Asked my Client name again.
ME: Said the same along with a few details of my Client.

VO: What do you do for your Client?
ME: Mentioned the job responsibilities for my Client.

VO: You mentioned that you have lost your OLD Passport, did you have US Visa stamped on your OLD Passport.
ME: No

VO: Are you Married?
ME: No

She said your Visa is approved and you will receive an sms in a few days and returned my I797 form.

All the best Guys :)

H1B & H4 Exp in Chennai, Sep 5, 6
Hello Everyone,

I'm sharing our BIOmetrics and Interview exp.

Sep 5th : BIO Metrics

Our Time slot was 1.30 but We reached VAC at 11.30, itself and was sent inside by 12.15, so if you are free, please try to reach some time earlier than the appointment date, inside VAC it was about 30 mins work, we completed the BIO Metrics and left VAC.

Sep 6th : Interview

Our Timing was 10.30 but we reached consulate by 8 AM and we went inside after completing initial security checks and Passport validations.

We had to wait for some 30 mins in the line, after validating our Passports, fingerprints, We stood in the line in the inside hall near VO's.

Our passports are validated again and asked me to go to counter **, we went and stood there till the previous person completes the interview and below is the conversation between me and wife with VO.

Me : Hi, Good Morning..
VO : Passport please, your passport madam.

We gave our passports, and waited for few seconds,

VO : Who is your petitioner
Me : told my company

VO : Who is your client?
Me : Told my client name

VO : "Asks my client name again"
Me : I repeated little louder (Now, VO is ok).

VO : Which location you're going?
Me : Told the place.

VO: Which State it is?
Me : Told the state.

VO : What is your highest qualification?
Me : Told, i"m bachelors of Engg.

VO : How long have been married?
Me : told the answer (VO repeats my answer and smiles :) )

Now, he looks at my wife.

VO : Do you work?
Wife : Answered

VO : What is your highest qualification?
Wife : Answered.

Then VO was typing something in his screen for about 10 to 20 secs, we were looking at his face, after 20 to 25 seconds He said "Your visa's are approved, Thanks and have a good day".

We said "Thank you sir".

One advise : Be calm, answer clearly and little louder, don't look around other interviews.. and try to reach as much earlier as possible. Even I reached US consulate by 8 though our interview as 10.30, there were few bunch of people even before us. So try to reach as early as possible so that you can complete interview peacefully, security people wont check for timings, they check your Appointment date and passport.

All the very best and if you believe in God, Pray peacefully in the morning before you go for interview.. I did.. :) :)

H4 VISA Stamping
Hi everyone,

I'm on H4 (F1-H4) & planning to travel India in sept end. This is my first H4 stamping, after being changed my status F1 to H4 last year. I've few questions :-

-2014 We've married religiously in India & didn't get a chance to register our marriage in India. Also, didn't get a chance to go back & register after that. Last year, I had to change my status F1 to H4, so we took help from attorney about Marriage certificate. He suggested remarry here in US. So we did it & got marriage certificate and H4 approved. My question here - If VO asked about our marriage date, should I tell him the whole story?

- I've recently applied for H4 EAD, My husband will be here to address RFE if I might get any? is it safe travel to India while waiting for EAD?

- I'm going Delhi for stamping. Does anyone of you recently went for H4 stamping ? Also, since my status F1-H4, Could anyone share the list of documents for H4 stamping?

Thank you!!

Question about Merger/ Acquisition h1b stamping
Hi All,

My employer A is acquired by another company B.
My employer said that there is no need for H1B amendment.

I am planning to travel to India end of September 2017.

Should I mention the new companies name or the old companies name on DS-160/client letter(My I797 and LCA still have Company A's name.)

Thanks in Advance.
