Hello All,
I went for H1B stamping on 4th May ( OFC ) and 5th May ( PA ) in Mumbai consulate.
4th May : OFC
It took hardly 5 mins to complete this Process .Left hand ,Right hand and 2 thumbs Fingerprints as well as Photo was taken .
Documents need to carry for OFC :--
Passport .
DS160 confirmation Page.
Appointment confirmation Page .
5th May : PA
Mine slot was at 9.30 a.m. I reached consulate around 8.30 a.m. Stood in line for almost 1 hour outside consulate .Security guard allowed us to go inside at sharp 9.30 a.m. Security check was done inside consulate .There were so many people and my turn came around 11.15 .
Here is how my PA happened :-
Me : Good Morning Officer !
VO : Good Morning .
VO checks something in system for 2 mins and look at me .
VO: So , Since how long you have been working with YYYY company .
Me : X Years Y Months.
VO : What is your designation ?
ME : YYYY .
VO : Which location you are travelling in US ?
ME : XX City YY State .
VO : Are you working for any Client ?
Me : Yes , YYYY Client .
VO : Do you get Know your right pamphlet.
Me : Yup.
VO: OK ! I am approving your Visa . You can collect it after 4 -5 Business day from the Pickup location which you have mentioned . ( Keep my passport )
Me : Thank You ! have a nice day ( with a smile :) )
VO did not ask any other document except Passport.
Documents need to carry for PA:--
Passport .
DS160 confirmation Page.-- same which carried at OFC .
Appointment confirmation Page . -- - same which carried at OFC
I797 , I129.
Don't carry so many things other than your documents and money .

221g Receipt Mumbai Consulate.. Who will submit the documents?
I went for visa interview at Mumbai Consulate on 5/May/2017.
Once I entered it took around 15min to come out. Out of which 10min were completely dedicated to interview.
Following are the questions and answers between me and visa officer (VO) .
VO: your passport and I797?
ME: ****
VO: Who is your petitioner?
Me: ****
VO: for how long you are working with your petitioner?
Me: ****
VO: what will be your salary in us?
Me: ****
VO: who is your client?
Me: ****
VO: where office..??
Me: ****
VO: what type of work you will be doing there?
Me: ****
VO: Are you married?
Me: ****
Then she took a white slip.. put ticks on that...And asked to share all the required documents on email.
Then she handed over that white slip, my passport and I-797.
BELOW IS THE TICK MARKED POINT OF 221(G) for reference:
1?. Copy of petition, I-129, and LCA
2?. Copy of employment contract or letter of agreement signed by you and your petitioner
?3. Detail description of the project to which you will be assigned. Includes a complete technical description of the project, employer, time-line, current status, number of employees assigned, work-site location and marketing analysis of the final product.
4?. A complete itinerary of services or engagements (including both internal and Client projects ) that specifies the date of each service, the name and address of the actual employers, and the name and address of the location where the service will be performed for the duration of the petition

My Dropbox timelines for H1B in Chennai
1- Documents submitted on 25th April.
2- Case created on 28th April.
3- Status changed to issued on CEAC site, on May 1st.
4- Status changed to passport ready for pickup on 3rd April on ustraveldocs website.

H1 and H4 Dropbox. Chennai Consulate.
Background:
I came to US using H1B visa through company A, obviously the visa stamp in the passport has petitioner mentioned as ‘company A’ and valid till Aug 2016. Then after coming to US, I changed my employer to company B and never got a new stamp in my passport and my i797 was from Jan 2014 till Dec 2015. Both employers has US clients, more like employer-client model. Then, I again changed my employer to company C and now I’m a full-time employee and my I797 is from Aug 2015 to Aug 2018. Company C is not a outsourcing company. Now I have three I797 totally. Company A’s I797 was revoked on Aug 2014, company B’s i797 got expired. Have a valid i797 of company C.
DropBox:
Since Company A’s stamp on the passport got expired on Aug 2016 and didn’t pass one year, I was eligible for dropbox.
Status:
04/24/2017 - Submitted documents at the Bangalore dropbox location. Its for both h1 and h4.
Required Docs:
Dropbox confirmation letter.
Current copy of I-797 for both H1 and H4. And previous i797. More importantly the i797 of the stamped visa on the passport.
Passports all old and new.
Tip: If you see a huge line just go to the front and mention that you are here for dropbox. They will immediately let you in skipping the queue.

Incorrect expiration date printed on visa
Hi,
I got my h1b visa stamping done on may 1st and i received the passport with incorrect expiry date. It is printed 'Jul 25th 2017' instead of 'July 25th 2019'. I emailed to [email protected] with necessary documents and waiting for their reply.
Has anyone got mistakes printed on visa before? If yes, how did you get them resolved? Do i need to do anything apart from emailing them?

Types on the keyboard and then came the golden words, your Visa is approved.
Today Visa status has been updated to Issued on website.

VO: where do you work? ( he meant which city )
VO: What's ur annual salary
VO: What are your job duties?
VO: What's ur highest degree in education?
VO: I see that you were on OPT, Did u ever go out of status?
VO: ( types a lot of stuff on the keyboard ) You are good to go.
May 3rd: Still waiting on the Visa status to change. Its still in admin processing.
Note: There was no negative atmosphere at the consulate.

Travel while H1B amendment in process
Hi Folks,
My H1B visa is approved for 3 years from date it was filled with my employer.
I was hired for in house project and then company has filed H1B amendement with
my cilent details a month after i joined. Now my current H1B status is on amendent
Problem here is i have travel scheduled on 18th May 2017 and reason for my travel is my marriage is scheduled then.
I am not sure if i can travel to india and get the VISA stamping done while H1B is on amendment.
Can you please let me know, if any of you have experienced this and if so, what are the consequences.
Kindly help me on this.
