H1b pending with 221g
Hi,
I have attended the interview on 8th November at chennai consulate and got 221g and VO asked me to submit the checked documents along with the passport. I have submitted my passport and additional documents on 17th Nov 2011. Its been almost 70 days and I am still waiting for my passport. I have sent couple of emails to them but I always getting very standard response. Could you please let me know if any one got visa approved in this situation. Is there any way to directly contact with US visa consulate officers..

Thanks for this wonderful forum which helped me prepare well in a short time.
Here goes my discussion with the VO @ chennai consulate on 30th Jan. time slot : 9:45 am.
steps :
1. token issuance outside,
2. security check
3. document verification by VFS. Your passport, DS160 confirmation and LCA will be taken out of folder and bundled separately.
4. ten-printing
5. interview : hand over only the bundle to VO. He will ask you othe docs if required.
My VO looked a strict man. Was not smiling and griling the guy in front of me ! His visa was rejected. He ushered me next :
VO : Good morning , how you guys doing ?
me : doing good officer. how are you today ?
VO : I am good too.
VO (to my wife) : who is this person ? (pointing to me)
wife: my husband
VO : are you sure ?
wife : yes, sure..
then some questions to my wife related to marriage, kid..and asked her to take a seat
VO : why are you going to the US sir ?
me : Temporary employment.
VO : how long have been working for YYYY sir ?
me : it's a new employment. I wil be joining them in US
VO : OK..which city will you be going sir ?
me : ABC
VO : can you show me the LCA copy and I129 ?
me : here it is..
VO : what will you be working on sir ?
me : (a well prepared 1 minute short speech)
VO : OK. How much will YYYY pay you ?
me : YYY
VO : (He dumped my passport in a bin) Kindly wait sir till your details go through the computer.
He killed some time asking where I met my wife etc etc...and cracked some jokes
Asked questions related to previous business visits to the US
VO : (handed back LCA) You visa is approved sir. You passport will reach you in a week's time
(Gave me a white booklet) Please go through this in case you employer does not treat you well and let us know about it.
me : yes officer. Thank you and have a good day
VO : Wish you good luck with your new employment and enjoy your stay in the US.
Prepare well (over-preparation is OK :)). keep smilng and dont show nervousness, though your heart may be pacing. Understand what is there is all your documents clearly.
People with previous B1/B2 related visits, be prepared with reasons if you stayed for a long time.
( people with kids : you are not allowed to carry any bags. carry only a water bottle/sipper if necessary )
If your kid is cranky then, you may be spared too many questions :)

Pink slip
Hi,
I had my visa interview on 27th Jan....I got a pink slip .........i'm confused VO told me that ur documentation is gud and explained me what is der in white pamphlet and told me have a pleasant stay in US and after that he gave me pink-slip said that he don't know any thing about clinical research and sent to different counter and they took my passport and asked couple questions and said it will take 4-8 weeks to make a decision .......can somebody help me. I am direct hire and have masters in science from USA.

Hi this is Kishore, I wanted to share my H1B interview experience which was happened at Chennai Consulate on 30 Jan 2012 at 12.15 PM
Hope the Security checks are very common and there is nothing big to share... So no problems in clearing security checks and biometrics.. One suggestion to all who are taking the interview is, Please do not take anything with you to consulate except the required documents and some money for your transportation. Apart from this dont carry anything coz it might leads to extra security checks.
Coming to the main section, I am waiting at the Visa lobby for my token no. to display on the LCD. The time came and my token has been dispayed. I went and stand in front of the VO. Here the my inter starts:
VO: Good Afternoon
Me: Very Good Afternoon. How are you doing
VO: Good. Can I have your documents plz?
Me: Handed over the Passport, I-797 and DS 160 confirmation Page
VO: Who is your Employer?
Me: xxx
VO: Who is the Client?
Me: xxx
VO: Who is your Reporting manager?
Me: xxx
VO: Where RM will be sitting?

Me:Its been 4 Years & 10 Months
VO:who is your client
Me:Its XX Financials, Its a financial and advisory company

Me:Hand it over to her
VO:what is ur degree qualification
Me:B.tech in electrinics and communications
This is very improtant question as one of the guy infront me confused her with master degree. He did not tell the that he has 3 year of bachelor and 3 years or master degree. She was not happy with him and gave pink slip to get more info.
VO: how many years of degree is this?
Me:Its a full time & 4year degree
Vo:she smiled and said oh good!!
VO:where are going to ?
Me:I will be going to XX,STATE
VO:what wil do there

My Wife went for H4 stamping and she got 221(g). Mumbai consulate asked for different company related documents like tax returns and list of all employees and their visa status, etc.
My employer refused to provide any company related documents. So I'm thinking about changing my employer.
My question is will that affect on my wife's H4. She has to reappear for visa. What is the process for that? If she has to withdraw current petition then how should I withdraw petition.
