H1 visa approved on 23rd Jan
Just a small return back from my side for this forum. I got my H1 visa approved today. The interview went as usual, but thought will share my mindset before interview. I had couple of thoughts that could have worked out negatively for me. My situation was I got my H1 change of status from L1 and I could not join the H1 sponsored company immediately as I had to serve notice period on L1 company. This was running through my mind till the interview as this transtition period of L1 to H1 is a grey area. Another concerned thought for me was while filling DS-160, didn't mention the job duties as per I-129 or employer letter. That forced me to fill another DS-160 before the interview and kept a copy with me just in case consular office asks the deviation in DS-160. Also I prepared all the required documents myself as I didn't have an attorney to do that, so had the slightest thought of uncertainity. Considering all these, my interview was ideally smooth, these are my questions :
CO : Good Morning
Me : Good Morning
CO : What is your job profile ?
Me : Explained 2 of my by-hearted I-129 job responsibilities
CO : What does company YYYY do ?
Me : Explained for less than half minute
CO : Are you travelling with dependent?
Me : No
CO : How long you are working for this employer?
Me : Last 2 months
CO : Can I have your payslips?
Me : Would you like to have W2 as well ?
CO : Sure
Me : Passed them through
CO: Your visa is approved and it will couriered and will be getting in a week
Me : Thanks. Have a nice day

Successful H1B EC model new Employment
Now it's my time to share the experience, I went for H1B stamping on 23rd Jan the interview was in this way

CO: Hi Good morning How are you doing today
ME: I am doing good how about you

CO: I am doing good, could you pass me your Passport and other support documentation
ME: Passed my Passport, I797, LCA, I129

CO: are you married
ME: No

A gap of 30 secs he was looking at my petetion and typing something in the system very seriously, my heart is running briskly

CO: could you pass me the support letter from your employer to USCIS
ME: passed the support letter he looked into the support letter for about 30 secs and started again typing in his system

CO: how much experience do you have with this employer
ME: it's a new employment

CO: For which company are you working
ME: xxxxxxx

CO: Since how many years are you working in your current organisation
ME: 3 years 4 months

CO: Where will you work in US
ME: city, state

CO: you will be working for xxxxx client?
ME: Yes i will be working for xxxx client from my Employer location

CO: but it is mentioned you will be working at your clients location as well
ME: If it is needed i will work from my clients location or else i will work from my Employer location only

CO: then you will be working at employers location only
ME: yes
a pause of 30 secs again typing some thing in his system, my heart is running at light speed until he asked me about the white pamplet which tells about the rights in US for Non immigrants

Then he said "Here you go, i am approving your visa you will get it in 5 days time" and returned back my other docs except the passport.

This is how the interview went, be confident guys and be cool if your documentation is correct then no one can stop you.

Thanks to immihelp for providing such a good platform to prepare for the Stampings.

H1B @EVC model: 221g issued with white slip
Hi everyone,

I have attended the interview on Nov 29 2011 at Hyd consulate and was issued a 221g with white slip. Two weeks later I got an email saying my case has been forwarded to USCIS for further validation. Haven't heard from USCIS since then. I know that the usual processing time at USCIS is 6mon-1.5yrs. So I lost my hopes on H1 approval, which is more likely to happen sooner or later, even thou it hasn't been denied yet.

I am thinking about trying to go back for a F1 Stamping for Fall 2012 (for a PhD from the university where I completed my Masters).
My question is "What are my chances of a denial?"
Does anyone of u know of anybody who has tried this route (F1 after H1 denial) and has had a successful stamping?

Anyone who's considering similiar paths, Please contact me with any info that can help me or guys on the similar path as me.

Hello H1B Aspirants,

First I am thanking immihelp for helping me preparing for my interview. Mine was on 20th Jan @ chennai consulate. The whole interview process is very smooth and easy.

Questions asked:
1. Where you will be travelling?
2. Who is your client?
3. How long you have been with your current employer?
4. What is your total experience?
5. What will be your roles and responsibilities @ US?

Thats all.. Much awaited words came "Your visa is approved. It will reach you in a weeks time"

My kind request to all - Please go thro ur petition and LCA. Questions will be from these docs only. You no need to get complicated or panic.
Be cool and confident which is more than enough in getting H1B visa.

All the best to all!!!
