H-1B administrative processing
I gave my visa interview at US Consulate, Hyderabad on 30th December, 2019. I was given 221(g) which said administrative processing.
I have been tracking my case status and it hasn't updated yet. The case update date was still 30th December, 2019. How long do they take to complete administrative processing? Is there a way to expedite this processing? I have my return flight scheduled on Feb 2nd, 2020 and was wondering if I will get any update before that.

Chennai US Visa Appointment Dates Unavailable for April 2020
Hi All,

We are planning to travel to India in April and I am planning to get a Visa appointment date for sometime in the first week of April. But i do not see dates (either for OFC or Consular) for April in Chennai.
Do i need to wait a little longer for it to open up?
Has it been already booked? (highly doubt)
Has anyone encountered such an issue?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Received 221(g) Blue slip
I had attend my visa interview on Dec 17 2019.

At the time of interview VO asked me some questions about my employment and asked me to wait for sometime, then she called me back to the interview counter and said your visa is in administrative processing and new passport is damaged you can't stamp on this passport now, apply for a new passport and submit. We don't need any documents for now to process administrative processing we will notify you via email if any required.

On 20th Dec 2019 : I received an email that "The administrative processing for your visa application is complete. Please submit your new passport along with the hard copy of this e-mail via drop box, operated at any of the 5 VAC or 6 CGI document drop-off locations.

On Dec 24th 2019: I submitted my new passport along with email hard copy and 221(g) blue slip issued on Dec17 2019.

on Jan 2nd 2020: I got a call from Bluedot and said to collect my passport. But I received the passport along with 221(g) without stamping.

221(g) requested documents:

I need to submit my employer 2 years tax returns, MS Agreement, Market Analysis Document, Work location, current Project details and my last 6 months pay stubs.

On Jan7th 2020: My employer has been submitted all the required documents.

Still if I check for my status it is in Administrative Processing Last updated on December31st 2019.

I don't know why after they sent me an email that my Administrative process is completed again they returned my passport along with 221(g),

On Jan17th 2020: Now my employer send another email to the US Consulate: "My inability to return to the U.S. and resume my employment in H-1B status is creating significant economic hardship for our company given the critical nature of my role and they need to issue my H1B visa asap".

Still it is in Administartive Processing Last Upadated on Dec 31st 2019.

Does anyone got the similar case?

Thanks in Advance,
Naga.

H1B Stamping Refusal on Medical Grounds
Hello All,

I am posting my experience on my H1b stamping with a prior arrest record. Any help on the next steps to take would be highly appreciated.

I went for my stamping in first week of December. FTE for a large O&G company. I had a DUI arrest in 2015, completed all pre trail requisites and the charges were dismissed in 2016. No troubles before or after the isolated incident.

My interview was short around few minutes. Was asked title, education and if I knew my rights. VO asked if I had any troubles with the law to which I explained what happened and told her I have supporting documentation to show all charges were dropped. VO referred me to get a medical evaluation done which I got done in the same week. Did not have a good feeling after the psych evaluation as the panel physician was hard to deal with and he made an assumption that I do not follow the rules of do not drink and drive (even though i had no record apart from that one misjudged incident).

5 mentally draining weeks later heard from the consulate last week with a refusal letter. The letter mentioned visa cannot be issued because I was found ineligible under 212 (a)(1) health related grounds. It also mentioned that I can apply for a waiver for grounds of ineligibility.

Can anyone please advise on what steps I can take next. My sponsor company's immigration attorney is also trying to find the next steps but I wanted to check if anyone can offer some insight in the meanwhile.

I have never got in any trouble before or after the incident and maintain a very healthy lifestyle not over indulging in alcohol and staying away for all controlled substances. My hard work over the last 5 years to build a career and a life are at stake now and do not know what to do.

If anyone has any insights on how to deal with this situation please let me know.

Thank You in advance.

First time H1B with dependents, Chennai, Approved
Hi all,

I am sharing my H1B interview experience which i attended with my dependents (Wife and 1 Kid) in
Chennai Consulate & VAC centre.

8th Jan: Biometrics completed in VAC for all 3 without any Issues.
9th Jan: Interview on 8.30 AM @chennai
Allowed inside the Embassy at 8.30 and was asked to skip the queues as we had a kid. Finally was facing the VO officer around 8.50.

Q&A:What is your Petitioner Name.
What is your client name.
Which city are you travelling.
What is your highest educational Qualification.
Are you going to travel along with your dependents.
What is your salary.

No questions for my dependents. And then we heard the words "Your Visa is Approved" , teh VO handed us with Approved green slip with the Know your Rights pamphlet. We moved out of the Embassy around 9.15 AM.

10 Jan: Status changed to Issued for 1 dependent.
13 Jan: Status changed to Issued for all 3 of us. Passport Ready for pickup.

Hopefully, this helps those who attend interview. All the Best.
