H1 Stamping @Delhi
I appeared for my H1B stamping at the Delhi Embassy

Visa: First Time H1B Stamping ( F1 to H1B, Change of Status case)
Date of Interview: 30th December 2019

This is how the entire process went:
------------------------------------------------
Me: Good Morning, ma’am
VO: Good Morning

VO: Can I have your passport?
Me: Sure, ma’am
[and, I slide my passport in the window to the VO. The VO flips through the pages of the passport]

VO: Can I have your I- 797?
Me: Sure, ma’am
[and, I slide my I-797A in the window to the VO. The VO spent some time reading the I-797A and at the same time, she was typing something on her keyboard as if she was making some notes or logging her observations somewhere. She spent around 2 -3 minutes doing this.]

VO: What’s your designation?
Me: YYYY X [something related to Data/Analytics]

VO: What’s the location of your work in the US?
Me: YYYY X, US

VO: Do you work in-house?
Me: Yes ma’am, I work in-house.

VO: What’s your salary?
Me: YYYY [told her my base salary + my annual bonus]

VO: What’s your highest educational qualification?
Me: Master’s ma’am. I have done my master’s in YYYY , from YYYY University.
[At this point, the VO pulls out the yellow slip, which she gave me eventually, and puts it on her desk. She get’s up from her seat and goes somewhere, with the I-797A form. It appeared that she wanted to discuss my case with somebody, but from the window, I had no visibility at all. She comes back to her seat after a couple of minutes.]

VO: There are discrepancies in your SEVIS records, so we need to do some further checks. At this point, we don’t need anything from you. The process will take around one week’s time.
[And she slides my I-797A to me, keeps the passport with her and also give me the Yellow slip]
Me: Thank you, ma’am. Have a great day [and, I make an exit from there]
------------------------------------------------

Technically, 6 working days have passed, since my visa interview date. I have been checking the status on https://ceac.state.gov and it is stuck at the status updated on 2nd Jan (reads “Administrative Processing”). The online passport tracker says my passport is still with the embassy. I also checked the passport status on the customer care at +91-120- 484 4644 and they have told me the usual processing time is 7 to 10 working days. I hope the process completes this week.

Here is how the interview went through.

Greeted VO and handed over Passport & I-797. VO hasn't looked at the I-797 during the whole interview.

> Do you have an end client?

> What is the end client's name?

> Where is the end client located at?

> For how long have you been working for this client?

> Can you provide me your client letter? - Provided

VO left the chair and discussed something with the office staff

> What is your annual salary?

> Can you provide your most recent W-2 ? Provided all the W-2's with the employer.
VO: looks like your were making less (XX,ZZZ USD Per Annum) when you were in OPT and XX,ZZZ USD Per Annum in 2018 and the pay was raised later on based on your current annual salary.
Me: Yes, pay was raised periodically

> How long have you been with/working for this employer?

> From which university have you completed Master's, in which Major and when have you completed your Master's?

> When did your OPT start?

> When have you started working in the US?

> Were you out of status anytime?

> Have you worked as a student in 2018?

> VO: Securing the passport aside, your application requires some additional processing, we will back to you.
Me: How long would it take?

It would take three working days to complete and you can check the status couple of days after that. They

Left counter wishing VO a good day

Lastly, anyone in the same boat, consulate hasn't asked me to provide any additional documents so far & no email received on the same.

221g - yellow slip submitted.
Hi,

I was given a yellow slip to submit additional documents on 23rd Dec at the Hyderabad consulate. I submitted the documents via dropbox along with the submission slip. In ustraveldoc.com, it is mentioned that "CGI will acknowledge the 221(g) submission slip for you to keep for your records". But I have not received anything yet.
Has anybody else faced the same situation? or did you get the acknowledgement? if yes, how?
Any answer would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

VAC Appointment Day : Appeared Bio Metrics, Photo on 22-Oct-2019 (TUESDAY)
(With me Original I-797 Approval Copy, DS-160 Confirmation Letter, Visa Appointment Confirmation
Letter and Passport)

Visa Interview Day : - Attended Visa Interview before Consular Officer on 23-Oct-2019 (WEDNESDAY) around 9.30 AM.

(With me all documentation, Client Letter, SOWs, Vendor Letters, MSAs, Educational, Experience
Certificates Employer Taxes, I-129 Complete Application with docs packet etc)
____________________________________________
VO(Visa Officer) asked me below questions

- I gave Passport, Original I-797

- How long have u been working with this company?

I told him from June 2019.

- Why did you change jobs..?

For Better career prospects, professional growth, challenging opportunity in latest technologies.

- Are you working for internal project or end client?
End Client

- Who is the client?

I told him YYYY client name

(When I was saying about client, he was checking in their system,

he couldn't found out there in PIMS-(Petition Information Management System) I believe,

- Next question asked me Client Location

- Client Location?
I told him client address as YYYY X

- What is your Job Role?

Software Developer

- Is your spouse coming with you?

I said no, since she is staying in India, no plans to bring my spouse for now.

He has taken yellow slip, and finally he said that send these checked documents,
to this specified email ([email protected]) and put 10-24-2019.

He returned my passport and said that once we receive these documents,
will review and notify to submit passport at near by VAC locations.

____________________________________________
Since i had my I-94 carry forward till 2022 may of I797 Approval time when i was in USA.

I have a doubt that their PIMS System is not updated,

because this petition is not notified to consular processing i think,

as my Visa approved on Sep 18, 2019, it is too early in their system update,
(I AM NOT SURE, JUST GUESS WORK)

I am guessing that they didn't have details. It has been just been a month since we got approval,

That is why they are asking all vendor related, employer related, client related docs.

He has taken yellow slip, and finally he said that send these checked documents to this specified email.

and mentioned tomorrow's date on it as 10-24-2019 (Next day of Interview Date i.e., 10-23-2019)

He returned my passport and said that once we receive these documents,

will review and notify to submit passport at near by VAC locations.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- No Status Update so far... It's been 10th Week now (01 / 07 / 2020 - TUESDAY)
