Indian Passport

I got an email on 6th Jan 2021 saying that my passport has reached the Embassy (that is what I see on the tracking website as well) but I have not received any update since then. I have called 7 times but they don't know when the Embassy will start operation / what the exact status of my application is.
Has it taken this long for anyone? Can I escalate in anyway or at least find out if there is anything wrong with my application?

Applied passport in VFS and documents has been shipped to VFS on 11th'Jan and reached on 12th'Jan but so far haven't received any update from VFS by saying documents have been received.

When I check the status in FedEx it was signed by D.Deepa. Has anyone received the documents from the same person on the VFS side?

January 11th, 2021 - Application sent through FedEx to VFS NYC
January 12th, 2021 - FedEx delivered to VFS NewYork.

No update from them yet.

December 28th, 2020- Application sent through FedEx to VFS Houston.
December 29th, 2020- FedEx delivered to VFS Houston.
December 30th, 2020- VFS sent a message to me we are processing.
January 4th, 2021-VFS processed the application and sent it to Houston Embassy.
January 4th, 2021- Houston Embassy- we received your application along with the fee and we are processing it.
January 5th, 2021-Houston Embassy- Application is under review.
January 6th, 2021- Passport Printing Initiated.
January 7th, 2021-Passport Printed.
January 8th, 2021- Passport handed over to VFS executive.
January 11th, 2021- VFS dispatched New Passport and Old (Cancelled) passport through FedEx to me.
January 12th, 2021- New and Old (canceled) Passports Received.

Total two weeks to get it Passport renewed through Houston Consulate.

FEB 12 - Passport has been printed and will be delivered shortly
FEB 12 - Passport has been handed over by the Embassy/Consulate to the OSP executive for further dispatch to the applicant.

I have applied for passport renewal.

1/14: application sent thru Fedex.
1/15:Application received by ICAC.

But i haven’t received any acknowledgment email yet. How many days does it takes?

Any one applied in 2021 and has received acknowledgement mail . I got acknowledgment with Subject line "Application Tracking" but can not track the application.

I am writing this to check if anyone has applied passport renewal in 2021. I received a mail which states "Dear Customer,

your package has been received at the VFS application Centre. Our current processing times are longer than usual. Your application will be reviewed with 48-72 business hours. You are requested to track the status of your application after 2-3 business days.

Thank you"

The mail doesn't have any tracking details and VFS status check shoes invalid input.

If anyone has applied now , can you please let me know the initial acknowledgement mail content and the email id from which the email was generated.

I am seeing below message in VFS Site

 VFS Indian Consular Application Centre in San Francisco has been impacted due to Covid-19

Our Operations centre in San Francisco has been impacted due to Covid-19 and continues to be closed. We will update on the revised reopening date shortly. The call centre will be operational as usual. We sincerely regret the inconvenience.

I mailed my documents on 1/12, My Passport is with FEDEX, they are unable to deliver the package to VFS.

How to get the Package back from FEDEX

I am trying to fill out the passport renewal application form. However, when I print it out, it prints out 6 pages and the instruction says, that we need to sign on page 4. I don’t see any place on page 4 that we can sign. On page 6, there is a box for signing. Has anyone else had this problem? Shall I just sign on page 6 and send my application? I will be sending to NYC. Thanks

Its been more than 8 days since its been rcvd at VFS (as per FEDEX) still it keep saying invalid input when I try to see the update online.
Why Govt of India ends up choosing such lousiest and creepiest service provoders?
Any suggestion how can I highlight it to right authorities?
