Hi All,
My L1A individual Visa was approved today 6th July 2017 at Chennai. I had converted from L1B to L1A in May 2016 while in the US and was appearing for L1A stamping for the first time.
My appointment was at 10:30 and I joined the queue at 10:15 and they allowed me to enter the consulate right away.
My driver was able to park the car in Semmozhi Poonga for 40 Rs. but not sure when the lot opens.
It took about 30-40 mins from the time I entered the consulate till my actual interview with the Consular Officer.
Myself: Good Morning Sir. How are you? (handed over my passport and approved petition(I797).
VO: Good Morning.
VO: Is yours an Individual Petition
Me: Yes. It is.
VO: You work for xxx? (after looking at my petition)
Me: Yes. I do.
VO: What is your client name?
Me: Answered
VO: Which location are you traveling to?
Me: Replied with City and State name.
VO: What will be your salary in US per year?
Me: Answered
He said my 'Visa is Approved' and retained my passport. It was a very short interview and lasted for about a minute.
Thanks once again for this community members who posted their experience. It really did help prepare for the Interview.

L1A Individual - Received RFE

L1A Individual with dependents Approved
Hi All,
My L!A individual Visa was approved on 06/30 at Chennai. Thanks a lot for this forum which helped me a lot to face the interview confidently. My Petition was filed on April and it was approved on May under regular processing without RFE.
Most of the members in this forum mentioned that no parking facility is available near consulate but i have noticed that "Semmozhli Ponga" is present just opposite to consulate. we can park our vehicle from 10:00 AM onwards. It will be more helpful to keep our mobile and other items in our car itself. Choice is up to yours whatever you feel comfortable.
I went with my kid and wife so they allowed me to go easily in all the queue. Following are my questions,

L1 B Individual Approval
Hi i am working as a Business Research Analyst based out in India. My Parent company is a Manufacturing MNC headquartered in USA. My Subsidiary in the USA has filed a petition for my L1B Visa in the U.S. What are the chances of Visa getting approved ? especially for a manufacturing firm because i have seen a lot of rejection experiences for IT firms? My Parent company is a Public Company headquartered in USA; Will this help me in getting the Visa ?

L1B Blanket Visa Approved at Chennai
First of all, thank you so much for this forum and community here. It really helped me to prepare myself for the visa interview. I attended for L1B blanket visa interview at Chennai on 6/30. And here is my experience.
My appointment was at 9 AM and I reached there at 8:30 AM and was allowed enter the consulate after verifying my passport. After the security, one guy asked me to arrange the 3 sets of documents in the order (I 129-8 pages, I797 first page only, DD for anti fraud fee, Passport). Then they allowed me to enter a building where the interviews happen. First counter, they verified the DD and gave me a reciept and then took the finger prints of my right hand. After this process, i was made to stand in the final line for the interview. Everyone seemed to be so tensed and I was hearing some of the questions from there. However, I still kept my cool and was confident that I could crack this interview.
Finally, my turn came and the guy asked me to go to a counter. There was a middle aged woman officer and she was very nice. Here is the conversation.
ME: Good Morning Madam.
Vo: GM, How are you?
Me: Good, Thank you. How are you?
VO: Doing good. So you work for xxxx?
Me: Yes.
Vo: How long you are working with this xxxx?
Me: 6.5 years
Vo: Why are you going to US?
Me: I am going to develop the reporting solutions based on the customer sensitive data and offshore restricted data.
(The word "customer" was not intended but came out by mistake)
VO: So, you work for any client?
Me: No, I will be working for my parent company. (Confidently)
Vo: So, who are your stakeholders?
Me: All the internal managers. (Stressed on the word "Internal")
Vo: What is your salary?
Me: xxxxxx USD
VO: Started stamping on the i129 (I was do tensed about the outcome), and finally said the golden words "Your visa is approved"and handed over the stamped documents.
Me: I said thank you and returned.
Overall, i think my luck worked in favor of me and i was not asked many questions (not even on the specialization). The VO seemed to be very cool. I have seen few other VOs who were shooting the questions like a rapid fire round. But my VO was very cool. She did not even ask me any documents though i have carried all the required documents.

- Was your blanket rejected previously (my blanket was rejected last year without much information asked )
- How long are you with your current company
- Who is your client
- What is your onsite designation
- What is your onsite salary
VO said visa was approved.
There were lot of Blanket & F1 rejects today. Better to go with individual or H1 visa.
Overheard a guy with 120K salary & 10 years of work-ex got rejected for his blanket visa.

L1A individual extension
I have applied for my L1 A extension on April 28 and i have received the receipt notice in May. This is through normal processing. Any idea what is the rough timelines here to get the petition approved?
My last extension was approved within one month, but now is been more than 2 months and still the status show as received?
Do i need to file a premium?

Mine L1 B blanket visa was rejected in march and now my company is processing L1 B Individual .
My case is not submitted to US immigration team. ]
Can i consider that i will get the petition since it was approved previously under blanket category?
What are the chances of getting visa stamped as it was earlier rejected.
I will be working in client location, but i see visa getting rejected if its client location, how can i overcome this ?

Can any one help me to know why USCIS has not responded to the RFE.. its been 15 days the status updating as Response to USCIS has been received and California center will began processing on your case.
